Re: Trying again: The Chronomancer

Oi vey. Building a Chronomancer just got a tad bit more difficult in the mechanics department: Chronomancer sourcebook states: "A chronomancer must have an minimum of 17 Intelligence...A minimum of 16 Wisdom is required as well...."
There are also "kits" for the Chronomancer, which are even more "painful" for the build, especially because the supposed benefits are not nor will ever be implemented on BG.
Guide: min 17 Wisdom.
Historian: min 17 Wisdom.
Seer: min Charisma 14 or better.
Traveler: any Chronomancer can be a Traveler.
That's gonna be a power killer!!
As well, Chronomancers are not permitted to use spells or spell-items from the opposition schools of: abjuration, conjuring and necromancy. Ouch. But I think I will have to forgo this "requirement" because there are no Chronomancy school spells available on BGTSCC, atm. And as it appears, the Chonomancy school would provide alternative spells that are lost when eschewing those three Schools listed above.
Though I'm still very much interested in Counterspelling, I am still weighing that focus against a focus on abjuration/divination/transmutation, which I think does fit the Chronomancer better. Obviously, dropping the Counterspell focus would free up for Epic Spell Focuses and maybe some more INT, which helps with DCs. But considering Divination spells are more often countered by Spell Resistance, the Epic Spell Penetration combined with a CL of 33 would be rather stellar.
If anyone has opinions about Counterspelling in general, or it's actual practical/mechanical game play, I'd like to hear it before I invest.
Anyway, I've come to this, then:
