Just an update here guys;

The UD Ooze Campaign will be wrapped up in roughly 3 weeks; any plans / ideas / emails related to the campaign I will answer and address accordingly before it all comes to a close. The CCs and I believe 3 weeks is a good time to end this campaign.

So what happens next?
I will be honest with you guys, hosting for the UD was never something I felt comfortable with to this day the UD maps confuse the hell out of me and my UD lore is paper thin I barely scrap by. A lot of the lore related questions I have to Google or ask in DM Skype chat. However I stuck to my promise and did what I could for the UD.

I am the worst possible DM you can have to host for UD -- and thus will be leaving the new storyline to a more suited DM, however...if no one steps forward I will continue hosting weekly sessions with my storyline (which I will send to the CC team for review) this is assuming no DM steps forward to take my place.

I am proud of the RP and life I have generated for the UD, but feel the only way to sustain this RP and keep life within the UD is to host weekly events, in time this will attract more players to the UD.

A short warning to all players
I am glad that more players are spending time in the UD even outside the weekly Ooze event, however I have noticed a few of these drow players spend most of their time on the surface; this may cause issues if it continues as I have noticed a lot of drow players come to the surface so please, please try to keep cross overs to a min. I am aware of the RP rule to come to the surface -- however this is getting pretty silly and I feel people are using this RP rule more as an excuse. Just something to bare in mind.

With that said I want to reassure you that the UD has a bright future, the end of the Ooze Campaign does not mean the end, I will do my best to keep everyone updated over the coming weeks.
I'm fed up with not being able to change anything
A few players have been coming forward with concerns, claiming they have no control over the 'story' of an event -- I want to debunk this here. Although I do have a clear focus on where the story will go that does not mean the players can not change it. I put very few restrictons on my events and allow players to talk / go / see anything they wish -- and / or ignore the NPC giving them the 'information / mission'

My problem is when the groups (like the ooze event) get too big i.e. 8 - 16 people -- when you all shift and go in different directions I can not handle it, thus I respectfully request players stick together (with two or more DMs I would not mind this however) I have had players try to work with the Creeping Doom as a spy, you don't have to follow the script I have down -- and you can change it. However if players 'just roll with it' like most of you do (which is cool either way) then I will continue my script, but I want to stress that I give players all the say in all of my events and will allow pretty much anything as long as it follows the server rules. There is nothing stopping you from avoiding the Concleve meeting -- and forming your own party to tackle a issue / threat, or try to work for the draclich as I said there is no glass ceiling in my games, so please don't think that.

With that said the ending of this event could go either way -- if the creeping doom wins, damage will be done and possibly a few perma strikes. I do want to stress that for player enjoyment I do alter things as I go i.e. the location of a plot item, if a player is having difficulty finding it / getting to an area I will make it a tad easier to avoid any fustration. I have also turned down the difficulty of a battle slightly to avoid party wipes -- however all bets are off on bigger events like this, so bare that in mind.

Session 10 -

Players went to hunt down the lost dragon scale relics, stolen from the spy that was delt with several weeks ago. They track the scales to a large building on the surface where they uncover a mysterious shadow entity that moves in the dark. The party are all taken to the shadow plane where they learn the fate of the old squad sent here to recover the scales. Eventually they get back the scales where they are confronted by shadow dragons, before someone opens a portal back to the under dark.

Session 11

The players all meet up with the Captain; where they briefly tell him what took place in the shadow plane. The Captaing goes on to explain they need a bigger army to stand agaist agaist the dragon. The Black Dragon suggests hunting down some of his most active spies. While the players suggest going to the 9 hells to recuit demon followers.

The players vote to go with the dragon which they do -- learning the scouts were protected by Drders. Quickly dispatching them and the scouts the party hears a mysterious voice in their heads, coming from the water. It tells the players that the golem maker is crazy and lives in a ruin under the sea. Several players refuse to go -- while others jump in. The mysterious voice turns out to be a Jellyfish -- a flumphs, who guides the players to an old ruin. Wirg returns in dragon form to bring several more players down, while a few others decide to leave not wanting to go into the water.

The Black dragon, who went into the water first -- seemingly vanishes, but no one seems to question it. Inside the ruins the players locate talking skeleton's who ask the players for tea -- the party learns that the skeleton's are being manipulated by a puppeteer who tells the players he is sending his best golem to test them.

Once the players destory the golem the players meet up with the golem maker, a Beholder who tells the players he was promised gold, power and metal by the Creeping Doom -- but the scouts never arrived (players killed them) the players come up with a deal to secure the beholder and his golems for their war effort.

Just a heads up guys;

If the server happens to be down during the weekly Ooze event then I will be hosting this over the IRC channel, exp will be awarded as normal -- but it will be pending until we can all get back in game.

If you happen to take part in the IRC RP, please tell me your name and account name so I can make notes to award the exp when I see you.

Next Sunday, at 7pm GMT -- will be the final UD Ooze game, it'll be a pretty big one running roughly 4 - 6 hours, so bare that in mind guys.

If the server is down / laggy I plan to host a fake private server where players can join to take part in -- the rewards will be transfeared over to your toons back on BG, also - for those who took part in the IRC last week, if you still haven't claimed your gold/exp send me a PM in game next time you see me.

As you all know, the final session of the UD Ooze event was hosted last night - I want to give a big shout out to all the regulars who showed up without fail every week to take part from start to finish. I know the final session was a bit of a headache with the constant crashes and lag spikes but we got there in the end.

I do hope you all enjoyed it, I did the very best I could to fill in for Dia and make this a plot everyone could enjoy. I am proud of the RP this has generated in the UD and the turn outs I was getting every week.

I do not know what the future is for the UD, but I will continue to host weekly events and try to encourage other DMs to do the same, I will be writing up a new thread in the DM section of the forums to give some of the ADMs ideas.

This thread will no longer be sticky, but will remain open for those who want to look back at it. Its been a rough 10 weeks, not everything went smoothly and several times I've had to throw things together on short notice, with players always turning up late! you know who you are :P

I will be taking a break from the UD for a few weeks to reflect on what direction we should go on next, as some of you know already I made a thread titled 'the future of the UD' where some of you put forward some good ideas.
