Are we able to keep our cohorts summoned while summoning normal summons again? (ie have both out at once)

The RP here sounds like it could be pretty interesting.

There are ideas for fleshing out the cohort of the Thaumaturge. I saw a question about that.
Giving them names is one of those. And selecting one semi-permanently like a familiar is another.

Those are on the horizon. They haven't been developed yet. Planning phase.
They were part of the original concept. But we couldn't fit it in at the time.

When Thaumaturgist was first released, the PC could simultaneously have a summons (elemental) and a planar cohort (celestial, sylph, etc).

Sometime after, a change was made, and this simultaneous 2 summons was changed, and now a Thaumaturgist can only have 1 summons at a time (elemental or planar cohort).

Can this be changed back at the earliest convenience? Thank you.

Don't know if someone could answer this, but:

Let's say a gate recently opened up to...oh, hmm, maybe...AVERNUS...opened on the Sword Coast. And, like, there were Thaumaturgists have tea and crumpets with their Planar Cohort, and...well, would that Planar have any ability or sensitivity or ACTUAL INTEREST in that gateway, such that the Planar Cohort would be attempting to influence the Thamaturgist to—if it matched alignment, of course—try and CLOSE THAT DAMN DOOR!!!

Is this RP still ongoing? Pending expert opinion on a build, I would most certainly be interested

The RP is still going on, and, working on further growth (which has been mostly private chatter to date).
