My warlock was originally designed to be a controller. It turned out to not be very effective (with a few exceptions). Monsters saves are really high in epics, warlocks DCs are hard to push high enough. Most invocations don't really give a decent controller effect, among those that give controller effect few last more than a round or so.

Thus I found that by just blasting everything I pretty much killed it before I got them to fail their saves. Especially in a party.

Your best bet is probably noxious blast combined with eldritch chain. While there are many monsters immune to it, it is awesome when it does work.

This is a decent enough build.

Beshadowed Blast is for low-mid fort who are immune to mind effecting or daze (It blinds, which is really effective)
Noxious Blast is for low-mid fort who aren't immune to mind effecting or daze
Vitrolic Blast is for damage/SR high targets/Trolls
Repelling Blast is for getting in the thick of it and KDing everyone (for low-mid reflex targets)
Draining Blast is for low will-mid targets (its only a slow though, but its good for enemies that have high reflex/fort and low will. Slow steals 1 attack/round, dispels haste, and lets you kite.)

It has permanent 15 DR, Immunity to Sneak Attacks, 50% Concealment (4th Tier Invocations supply the best defensive abilities), High AC with divine shield and ICE, and DC 35 per blast (10 (Base)+1 (Spellcasting Prodigy)+8 (CHA 27)+2 (+3 CHA item)+3 (Epic Bonus)+2 (Blackguard Aura)+9 (Blast+Essence)). As well, it has vamp feast for an oh sh*t button.

It can be made into an assimar, but you need to drop a feat. Pretty much every feat you take is more powerful than +1 DCs (plus you also lose skill points).

When I get back to my normal computer I shall put up what I have created. I think much only switch will be chain for charm. I will continue to ponder that though. It has some Rp value above its game play value. Chain is pure game play cheese. But there has to be some attention to both for me.

Spell casting prodigy is +1 cl and all your +1charisma are less

this is my build plan. would also note that i for some reason have one more skill point per level on this build than the builder provides. they are all going to concentration.

Focus: Invocations is pretty worthless.

A) The DC invocations are inferior to the Essence Effects
B) You aren't actually taking any invocations that would benefit.

Aaah. We don't have any of the blast-boosting feats (Focus: Essence, Max/Emp Blast) here.

ok so i am back to ICE, but i really dont think it will be necessary. could go battle caster, but i really doubt i will find a MFP anytime soon.

probably blindfight. yep.. that will go t blindfight.

All seeing eyes can give you the blindfight feat if you aren't already locked in on your least invocations. Otherwise, not sure how much blindfight would help a controller style lock?

weapon focus: RTA (for when you need to use your blasts since you aren't a blaster lock)?

Sorry, can't actually look at the NWN2DB if you already have it disregard.

I would say your 'best bet' is to try and make yourself at least somewhat viable when your controller bit can't work and IMO the best way to do that is to make it so that your eldritch blasts can hit/do some damage.

my RTA is 30 w/o WF, 31 with. cannot use EB gloves to increase because that is against the rules i think.

not against the rules, can just cause issues in SOME areas. Gloves or weapons with EB are allowed, but if you use them against an enemy with deflect arrows the blast will be deflected every time. (such as some of the mobs on the Island off Ulgoths Beard, where you go to do the berries quest) So you can have such equipped, but it is best to have it quickslotted to unequip when necessary so you don't waste time on blasts that can't hit.

31 +4 = 35 which is not terrible at all for an RTA.

Warlock is super strong as a class... once you get it to high lv at least.
