We discussed water domain briefly as part of the evasion discussion and decided then that there is no benefit to discussing it further until we've decided what to do with evasion and expose weakness, if anything. So as I stated in my original response, this discussion is premature.
We both have been players since the inception of NWN1. Given we have far more experience then you in D&D owning the box set and whatnot and NWN in general playing since it's inception I'd hope you'd defer to our years of experience.
You might be barking up the wrong tree on that one with Chad. He is a PnP player. Unlike say someone like me who really got into D&D through NWN1 and NWN2 then after hitting up servers like this one got into the lore of it. Now I do not know nearly as much as Chad does and he may be considered a minor geek on the subject considering some of the others I have known and RP'd with like Grymhyld and countless others who truly know and love the realm like life itself.

My dad works at D&D. I'll tell him to tell you you're all wrong.

What makes you think you've any idea how long I been playing? I don't own the box set, but I played it when dwarf and elf were classes. Regardless, having played so long I imagine you know that each campaign, DM, group, whatever is going to be balanced differently. Low magic, high magic, home brewed or by the book, what have you... Same goes for this server. So no, the QC team will not defer to your experience, we will continue to discuss the balance of this server based on our experience in years of playing here, with the rules as they exist in this specific PW.

I can bet that Ed Greenwood and the others who started this thing never intended for it to be like this. The whole thing they laid down was to be in mind as feeble as it may seem to be a fantasy realm where one could imagine the impossible in a sense. The lore was to be more like the pirates code. Guidelines. A starting point nothing more. All those points in the lore line to me are places to hop in an start. Points of reference if you will. After that imagination and the DM would determine what becomes the new normal and lore for your world now being created. Sometimes I feel like the lore is treated more like rules to be strictly followed and rigid and that is just not what it is supposed to be you know? ANyway great drugs aside and my rant I think BG does a decent job of balancing these two clash of ideals here. For the most part. It is a tough job.

Before the wheels fall off, which a lot of people abusing the water domain power would want it to. I'm making this suggestion because the domain power is way over powered, stronger then other powers that had previously been banned. I'm not exactly for nerfing any original content really, I'm more for incentive for folk to play the gods of water domains for the RP and not because the overpowered domain power of evasion.

SBlack, you've posted 7/20 posts on this thread so far, it's pretty clear you are interested in this change, but I am not seeing a lot of support from the community. As AC81 said earlier, maybe wait and see where the changes land before pushing additional changes.

Well....this has nothing to do with any future changes. Fact is that water domain power feat granted of evasion is way overpowered in comparision to other domains. Anyone who really is interested in game balance would be for a change to balance domain powers, right?

How do you balance something that may or may not change? Your argument falls apart if evasion is changed and is no longer overpowered. Not to mention your false logic that anyone interested in balance would be interested in changing things. If I think it doesn't need to be changed then I am wrong?

You won't be able to brow beat your way into changes here, you are only going to give yourself a headache.

You really shouldn't commenting on this at all considering on your main is leader of a trading company with strong ties to a shipping company in which most are sailors that would indeed benefit from the water domain power. Any change to the water domain power would directly affect you personally in regards to your guild and hence you should keep silent and not give an opinion which is based mostly on personal bias.

Subject: Evasion - Not in Heavy/Medium Armor
SBlack wrote:seems I need to wield a large hammer to pound this in:

The game manual clearly states that evasion is not hindered by heavy armor and works exactly as intended.

Given this feat is coded exactly how it's intended based on the game manual.
So, your argument is essentially that because the Game Manual says/doesn't say Evasion shouldn't work in medium/heavy armor, well, game manual also says that Water Domain gets Evasion.

So what's it gonna be mate?

Wow. Just wow. I mean a lot of your posts are trolling, but this...

I mean you haven't even contributed to any of the threads you've posted in except to attack others and repeat your still unexplained opinions over and over again.

Just... go do something else.

Per 3.5e, water domain however should be getting a different ability then evasion.

Granted Power: Turn or destroy fire creatures as a good cleric
turns undead. Rebuke, command, or bolster water creatures as an
evil cleric rebukes undead. Use these abilities a total number of
times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. This granted
power is a supernatural ability.

I don't know if it is limited to Obad-Hai but thats a greyhawk deity.
