@DonnieDreams:

My new orc toon Grishnak would be an ideal foe for your clan. He hates dwarves most of all and goes out of his way to bring them harm. After reading your bio, I think we can definitely mesh something together, as Grishnak's bio is still being ironed out.

Let me know if you're interested. :)

I like the sound of that as Roenus is still pretty low level and I just sacrificed Mal for levels on a new thief character.

Also everyone else great ideas with the club and what not. Haven't been able to post much been long hours at work.

I play most on the weekends so if anyone wants to start setting up groups or what not so me. And we can go from these.

I'm in for some user-friendly competition and partying, maybe a roster-like guild could be created for questinable characters who don't want to start or join a specific evil guild, but would like to associate and are open for invites to RP.

Don't know how to go about making a guild. But we could add a roster to this topic with character names and what kind of antagonist they are looking for.

First you make a Guild Page in the Guild Forum. The Public one. Which lists your guild style so to speak. Rules and RP goals and the like. Put a roster there and then you are a guild. Pretty much. After about a month or so you can request a private guild page and get that going. After about 3 months active you can apply for a guild house. WHICH WILL TAKE YEARS LOL.

This feels like it might be better served as a signup system like the old PVP club rather than an IG guild. Once the antagonistic relationship is established then it can play out over RP as usual.

I don't know what signup system you refer to, but yes, I don't mean it to be a guild, just a roster or a club - a better idea yet! A start of social network of the Realms

pretty much put any and all of my characters on an Open PVP list or whatever. if you have a viable reason to want to battle one of my characters, then i do not require any RP or any RP outs. all i request is that you do not create a "finishing move" on my character. lets be civil here. i will show the same courtesy toward you. we do not even need to consider a win or defeat in such battles. and even though one is down call it a "draw" and the combatants separate for one reason or another.

my game acct name is Reca22 and i do not hide. do not metagame.

So what happens when someone reports a rule breaking pvp encounter to a DM? Or when some other drama occurs?

Why should DMs moderate people that intentionally set out to avoid the rules that were made to keep the peace?
In fact, why should DMs allow a thread about mass rule breaking and organization in their own forums at all?

And some of you people had bad views of the DMs, with all the tolerance they have. This is shameful.
these are good points. it was suggested to just do this in our own little group though. but i agree that openly rule breaking puts the admin in a tough spot if they complied. could there also be an open exploit club? an open "R" rated group?

FYI: never filed a complaint and I have sympathy for the admin. us players are the WORST.

How exactly would something proposed in this thread be breaking PvP rules? Instead, this initiative seems to me as being upholding them (and practicaly offering the only way one can find legitimate PvP now! besides, it's not all about PvP, but also about friendly competition). Don't mislead admins, please, chambordini.

Please keep in mind that idea of a new pvp club has not even really been explored . To assume we are already mass rule breakers is a bit much dont you think?
chambordini wrote:And some of you people had bad views of the DMs, with all the tolerance they have. This is shameful.
Some of 'us people' have good view of the DMs, and appreciate their tolerance. Can you please provide some clarification on what sort of point you are trying to make with that statement?

This Heroes and Villians RP and PVP Club is an opportunity for some players to create roleplay and player led events. Server rules are not going to be ignored and those not interested in the pvp side of things do not have to participate in that side of things.
Since consent for pvp will be given upon joining the pvp portion of the club, rules will not be broken nor need to be changed.
It might create a bit more drama on the server, but that comes part and parcel with drumming up fun and excitement. Also, we can do what we can to try and minimize any drama. I think it will work best if we first have some volunteers to organize things. Once that is done perhaps we should focus on how to organize and set up rules for the faction itself. And we should all be aware by now that, it is not just about pvp - its about heroes and villan conflict. We need good guys and bad guys in this group (I recommended earlier -two sub groups maybe).
We have agreed we do not want a zerg/gank club- but a consensual conflict RP/PVP club.
So, volunteers to organize?
I will volunteer if we need peeps- but someone that good at setting up a public guild and forums stuff would be great. Plus someone with a good grasp of the current pvp rules would also be really helpful.
Who else wants to start this?

I'd be willing to administer it. If done properly this could definitely help foster and develop stories.

From my perspective though, participants need to be extremely mature about PvP. I wouldn't want this to be a channel through which a pair of players just mercilessly gank one another like an R-rated Tom & Jerry cartoon, and if that's all you want to do, it's going to demean the whole enterprise.

A Rivalry would need to be consensual. Both players would need to have agreed beforehand what their personal rules of engagement are - are RP Outs required, can third parties be commissioned to act against a players rival etc.

Once both players have agreed, I'll add them to the forum post, with the conditions so that it's clear to all, including staff, what the players are agreeing to.

Finally, I do agree with Xan that this sort of thing works even better when it grows organically from IG/forum RP, but I'd be happy for Rivals who'd formed their rivalry in game to put their names down.

Thoughts?

somebody that is good with forum setup and experience with those details just start a thread in the forums. maybe even set up a good side, evil side, and joint. from there we can forum RP up some meetings and organize ourselves. also there we can establish rules and courtesies. i think this is a good way to let it evolve organically while still knowing who wants in and who doesnt.
