Or not suffer PvP loss, remember what happened, and make his or her way out of there!

Just be a nice PvPer and raise the person you accidentally mechanically killed. Can't do that with Damnation if it would actually send people to Avernus.

The fun thing about that tho, is when you start seeing various orders useing it as "penance".
Example: "For your crimes, I sentense you to battle in the bowls of avernus!" - Or paladins going "Send me to hell, I shall battle the hordes till I am/Have/does redeem Myself/someoneelse/paladinstuff".

Or... The level 2 character sent to avernus by a pissed of caster, stuck there till server resets.

if my level two was sent to avernus i would run directly into the first mob and take my 200 xp and get back to what i was doing. now. if i were playing HC, then yikes.. wonder how long i can hide out of aggro range.

on a side note. how cool would be if you died in avernus, you did not go to the fugue but lost command of your character and was raised up to fight against others or wander around until reset. take that mr. pali.

There are safe areas in Avernus you could try to reach if your lv 2 got stuck there but whether you would last long enough to get to them is the question.
