Public service notice: Please pick up your loot bags, when there are dozens of them left in an area they could cause lag/crashes!
People don't pick up trash in RL Chad. You think they will pick up data trash here?

Well, everyone complains when the server get's laggy or crashes... There is something that can be done to help prevent it from happening.
But as I said, simply not having an item in game that has no value would be the appropriate fix in this case. It's one thing when the occasional loot bag of tanglefoot gets left, but when there are dozens of ectoplasms littered around the screen that is when it can tend to cause problems (I think).

I accidentally stumbled over someone who will buy the ectoplasm, so there is a use for them in the same line as the wolf/bear/troll hides. I'm not gonna spoil anything here on the forums, but I can say that the buyer does make some sense for that item.

Unless it was edited out during an update they can be traded for gold:

There is also the rare find of a snow tiger/leopard hide.

Just curious about this, is the crafting system actually working then? I have found a dozen or more books with recipes in them for everything from cloaks to weapons. Is this implemented? For instance could I use the frost recipe, should I have the required skills, to add frost damage to a weapon?

Nope. All the crafting books are irremovable leftovers of the OC loot system. BG has no
active, enabled crafting/enchantment system (but there is a custom, albeit disabled, one).
Don't expect it to get included any time soon. We've been waiting close to 10 years for custom crafting on BG now
