I believe you about 1346. Volo's Guide has already the Friendly Arm in it. But so is FAI, it only got conquered after the time of troubles too (started playing BG1 enhanced edition again).
It could be argued that this was our server's first "metaplot." Although it wasn't the first to be called by that name, and didn't last all year; it was the first time multiple DMs worked very closely together over a large portion of the server for multiple days in a row. Which has since become a staple of metaplot story arcs at their climaxes.

Ah, found the reference finally in the Revised Forgotten Realms campaign setting for AD&D.
IIRC the first Baldur's Gate area looked different than the one now, at least back in 2009? I usually just left the area as fast as I could. It lagged the hell out of my computer back then.
