Mage armor and shadow shield are A LOT more subtle lol, although I wouldn't miss them if they were gone. A better comparison, in my opinion, would be barkskin et al, which are toned down from their original effects, but can still be annoying.

Barkskin is toned down? Annoying enough as it is.

I propose an alternative if possible then: Have toned down ones for the Underdark as going through pitch black tunnels with a bright white circle around you is a bad idea.

Dragons like shiny things right? This sounds like a drow plot.

Not gonna lie, I love the spell and the appearance. It's something that my husband and I both commented on how awesome it is.
Just my 2 cents.
Keep up the great work, the whole lot of ya!

Re: Magic Circle against Alignment
1. I guess VFXs are a serious problem for DM events, so there should be an option to tune it down during events.
2. Magic Circle is an aura with multiple vfx's. I think valefort could disable the "hit effect" that occurs when someone enters the circle and keep the aura vfx. If that helps?

Lots of spells with gaudy effects should be invisible as per the D&D rules.Tantive wrote:Mage armor should be an invisible spell btw.
For example, Stoneskin isn't supposed to turn your skin, gear and possessions to actual stone as it does in the game. It just makes your skin "as hard as stone". Same for Barkskin.

Re: Magic Circle against Alignment
While i agree with having flashy effects and spells there are times when i would prefer not to have any VFX showing.

Re: Magic Circle against Alignment
Removing vfx would help alot in pvp... if people dont see any effects they are less likely to use dispells. Pve though its worthless... A.I. always knows when you are buffed and always uses dispells against you so no benefit there.
