FAI, BG Te'alis' Wares (Epic Sneak Boots and More)

A tall man in a fine suit of armor and the unmistakable smell of alcohol on his breath saunters over and makes a bid:

"Eleven hunnerd bags fer the boots.. er make it eleven hunnerd and ten. Names Kellrin..."

He'd tip his hat then, and look over the rest of the wares for a moment before inquiring about a price for the robes.

After a busy day of bids Te'alis makes new updates to the prices. Updating the boots with yet another anonymous bid. This time of 1.2 million gold pieces. He then spreads the word.

"In the near future it will become increasingly difficult to stay apprised of anonymous bids. I understand that it is inconvenient but please have an agent declare your bid on your behalf if you are unable to place it in person."

((for the sake of my sanity and to let everyone get a chance to respond can we try to at least post something in the thread for visibility so people know what bid they need to beat? I can't monitor this 24/7 and I don't want to waste anyone's time if they've already been outbid.))

Lielle leaves a scrawl on the bottom of the notice.

"I would offer 200 bags for these boots. Lielle Damessan.

The half-man scratches his head. "Them boots sure are very well-worn, folk thinks. But Stult do too. He gives 1,250,000 for em if need be."

Draviir looks at the other potential buyers, "2 million."

Te'alis, with brows aimed at the sky, updates the prices in his ledger

Te'alis and friends make the rounds promoting the auction. Te'alis along the road and others heading into the city to remind people that bidding is slowly drawing to a close.

A sobered up Kellrin returns to place a bid of 2100 bags. You can see him uncork a new bottle as he finds a comfortable place to sit.

Draviir looks over at Kellrin, "Don't get too comfortable." He ups the bid, "Two and a half million."

While his gaze remains locked on the two and his uncharacteristic grin grows even wider, Te'alis nudges the associate holding the ledger to suggest he update that price.

[Brother Bruce]

Pondering a while and taking several long swigs of his drink, Kellrin looks to Te'alis' associate.

"Make it three million, then, for the boots... 'fraid those fine robes will have to wait."

A horn sounds, signaling that the auction is beginning to draw to a close. All items without bids are removed from the block and tucked away. Te'alis makes an announcement.

"Thank you all for your generous bids. The final day of the auction is officially upon us so do get those last minute bids in. The auction will close tomorrow at this time.

We'll allow all people with current bids to respond to last minute bids at the close if there is sufficient interest."

((Bids after the close will only be open to players who have been involved in the bidding so far. If we ever go an hour 30 minutes without a new bid the auction is closed. This is mostly to protect the interested parties from getting sniped out of nowhere right at the end. This will prevent you from getting burned since we're doing this on a forum.))

Draviir listens to the auctioneer, nods in understanding and responds, "No need for extra time for the boots, they are now a bit too dear for my tastes. Enjoy!"

Te'alis nods to Draviir.

"Thank you, I will keep you in mind should another pair surface. However, a bit of a 'once, twice, sold' period will just help the current high bidders out if someone tries to sneak in at the wire."
