I played Barbarian 20/Battlerager 5/Frenzied Berserker 5 extensively. It's a great build, huge damage, HP pool, good saves (except reflex), AC up to 50 + evasion and expose weakness, charge and improved knockdown.
Barbarian is a strong class, IMO 20 levels are mandatory after which it's your choice how to round it up. Multiclassing options are usually aforementioned FB/Battlerager (if dwarf) but also Anointed Knight/Warrior of Darkness are very strong choices, or Divine Champion/Fighter.
You can always go full 30 levels of Barbarian which is an interesting path if you like single-class heroes. These 10 epic levels of Barbarian offer 3 extra epic feats, 3 points of full damage reduction (equivalent of epic feat) and 2 extra uses of rage per day.
