Bard20/Palemaster10.

I played a fighter12/bard8/palemaster10 for a while. Was good fun. Cool death-knight-esque concept.

Bard22/assassin8 is definitely a possibility.

I mean it depends on how bard you want it. Is it OK with bard8, or does it have to be "mainly" bard (so level 20+ of bard or bard progression PRCs).

Bard8/dread pirate10/tempest5/x7 (weaponmaster, for instance) can probably make a pretty good dual wielder focused on strength, stopping at 14 dex.

http://nwn2db.com/build/?158716 Did you mean something like this? It is much easier to dispel thesedays.

So you could just drop the Dodge and Mobility feats alongside with the Shadowdancer, and get Crossbow Sniper Master and Practised Spell Caster.
Yep, that one!

By the way and quickly going off-topic, I had a look on your builds and got really tempted to play that paladin of Sune of yours - really great concept.

Something I must ask as a relatively newbie on BGTSCC: how do you manage mainly melee, spell-less builds? I've experimented something on JEGs and got beaten up quite easily.

Other than that, bard 20/pale master 10 seems like a great combination and RP build to play with.

Non-Casters do have it rough when you get to the epic levels as they are highly gear dependent. Short answer is that if you aren't using UMD and aren't partnering with a caster you probably want to have sky high saves and steadfast determination or you want to be very smart with how you use HiPS in order to avoid spell casters.

That said, JEGs enemies are FAR stronger than BG enemies of equivalent CR... CR~24-25 mobs are probably as strong or stronger than our CR28-30 mobs.

Let's pretend I didn't have my arse kicked by CR 16 mobs.

Riiiiight. I'll... be careful on epic levels.

You have to build your character to have AC, saves, and damage. You need AC so that you are hit less, you need saves so that you can win rolls against save or die effects, and naturally you need damage so that you can bring down your enemies as fast as possible.

But you can make do with less, for example, if your damage output is very, very high then you can make do with less AC and saves. A build such as Fighter/Rogue/Frenzied Berserker/Weapon Master comes to mind, if you approach with care you can easily take out enemies one on one. Or perhaps your AC is just so high along with saves that you can just tank it out with lesser amounts of damage, you could add any Fighter/Dwarven Defender build here.

And yeah, you can make use of UMD... But I dislike that and it can be dispelled. So I kind of prefer to go for the bit stronger non-spellcasting builds.

It also helps to know what you are facing, so you focus down on the mobs that pose largest threat to your character, etc.

And... Well, you could try out a build such as Barbarian 20/Something else 10.
