Re: Chests with dispel/breach traps
How is it any different if a rogue fails disarming an epic trap and gets blasted to hell? I say leave them as is, casters need to fear something or make them actually get others to work together to get through an area.Glowfire wrote:I find Mord's on a trap to be too much. Dispel, breach? Sure... annoying but having a Mords' strip of everything is too much.
I say make it even worst...but letting folk steal them traps muhahaha

When you die, you can continue to play. If you might get stripped of all wards, the only option may be to log out in truth.

Or have potions/scrolls as back ups. Pop an invis run out to rest area, rest or head back to a city/safezone to wait on timer. Traps are fine as is IMO, I just wish I didn't have the luck of face tanking them! (Sometimes I'm impatient and then I eat 90+ dmg and go omgnoowplz)

Casters get enough of a boon and benefit on this server and it is about time they have to worry about something. You can just chug an Invis and run out to rest, or find a camp in a dungeon and take a snooze. Or better yet, find a rogue. Or use your summons to eat traps. That could do it.Glowfire wrote:When you die, you can continue to play. If you might get stripped of all wards, the only option may be to log out in truth.

Re: Chests with dispel/breach traps
Wand of lesser summoning is super cheap and useful for eating traps... few players use them though. Wand or potions of invisibility can also be great ways to get out of an otherwise untenable situation. Consumables have so many uses to help in those RARE occurrences when a caster gets caught in a bad situation.
I'd also like to call out that the mechanics that make things difficult are a big part of the fun. If there was no challenge there'd be less reason to log in.

Whats annoying is when you open one of these chests and not only does it dispell your wards but also both planar summons. It is overkill. one or two buffs.. sure. everything and all my summons... yeah no

Summoned creatures, sure. Called or gated creatures shouldn't be able to be dispelled. They can be banished of course. Maybe this is something we can fix if that is happening.Wolfrayne wrote:Whats annoying is when you open one of these chests and not only does it dispell your wards but also both planar summons. Uh, the problem was not with dispels, but with dispels failing to correctly report which spells were removed in the combat log.

Do you not see the Gray list where it states "X, X, X" is removed? I don't depend on the icons above the head completely, a quick glance there and it should show in the log itself. Or is that what you are talking about and I just misread lolNegInfinity wrote:Uh, the problem was not with dispels, but with dispels failing to correctly report which spells were removed in the combat log.

Re: Chests with dispel/breach traps
Not really how the spells work, you seem a bit to spell-solo dependent. I bet you don't complain too much with you Mord a foe and everything is gone. You just need to get a rogue to share the loot runs with. Cause that is honestly all of what casters are complaining about when they solo places...Wolfrayne wrote:Whats annoying is when you open one of these chests and not only does it dispell your wards but also both planar summons. For the record I am not complaining and I main a 22 wizard/archmage
I've had it happen to me only a few times though, and yes it definitely was not good! The 2nd time I was a little more prepared, fortunately. I try to keep a few backup spells handy now.

Re: Chests with dispel/breach traps
As I said before, the "gray list" does not report all the spell the traps remove. Only some of them. Sometimes. That's why I posted the bug report.ValerieJean wrote: Do you not see the Gray list where it states "X, X, X" is removed?
