Can't we give TU progression without giving TU? As in it progresses turn undead if you already have it from cleric, but doesn't give you turn undead if you don't have it?

Yes, that is something we have done. however, most of the PRCs abilities are based on turn undead usage. Not all divine PRCs give that - only Cleric, Blackguard and paladin. Blackguard does not even have a spell book

possible to grant two paths? One path gives turn undead progression (if you have it) and the abilities listed and the other path gives other perks outside of TU abilities.

Would be nice if the PRC went in a completely different direction than Divine might/shield. That is already the go-to build for divine melees.

Ughh.. this class sucks.

And it gets sacred stealth 4 at level 1... while divine seeker gets sacred stealth 4 at level 4. Now Divine Seeker is even a worse choice. But divine seeker at least has like, a lore-ish idea behind it. This class to me is just trying to fit a mechanical desire into lore.

The lore stinks, especially when restricting it to good only.

I'm against making it require divine spell casting. As someone who played a rogue who was/is highly religious, Divine Seeker was an awesome class for someone with 8 wis and high charisma/dex.

i mean what next? An evil only healer and friend of animals? i mean this class is specifically disallowing gods whose freaking domain is darkness and shadow from being able to grant their clerics sacred stealth, but goodbonly gods, who have nothing to do with shadows or stealth are going to be able to give it to their clerics.

But its not just sacred stealth that cheeses me about this class. It's called "shadowbane stalker". where's the shadowbane? How is this class a bane of shadows when it freaking uses them and even has gods grant sacred stealth.

how about we make a good only ghost faced killer next, because you know, ghost facd killers cant be good. Or how about a "fearbane fighter", good only, that casts fear everywhere, because, you knw, good doesn't get a fear based prc... ....seriously, this class is horrible. Ive neber objected to any class suggestions as a whole, but i think this one is nothing but a powerbuild part.

Worse, no scout, no hunter... ..real basic classes... ..but this... a good only backstabbing shadow dweller... ...yeah... rp server...

I made this suggestion thread because of another thread where someone said the divine seeker class was severely lacking. I agreed, and tried to provide an alternative. I'm sorry it doesn't tailor to your specific needs, or meet your vague standard of lore, but your arguments don't make sense to me and I'm not sure how to respond to you, NeOmega.

Here's the link to the actual lore, which I hope satisfies your arguments. I didn't write it, so....
Divine Seeker

(Player's Guide to Faerûn variant, p. 52)
The divine seeker infiltrates dangerous places to rescue prisoners, reclaim stolen relics, or eliminate enemy leaders.

Shadowbane Stalker

(Complete Adventurer variant, p. 70)
Shadowbane stalkers find evil hidden in civilized areas so that the martial arm of the order (the inquisitors) can spearhead the attack. Those they name as heretics or servants of evil call them zealots. Those they protect from darkness call them saviors and defenders of the truth. Whatever their label, shadowbane stalkers rank as some of the most feared individuals wherever they go.

As a note, my comment about spell progression only applies if Divine Seeker is replaced by this.

If not, disregard.

Regarding alignment, elven gods, gods of knowledge, Lathander would have great uses for such crusaders in the vanguards.

Often times, the 'good guys', paladins, clerics, etc, are severely lacking in stealth, espionage, and detection. Thats the role I believe this PrC helps fulfill.

You're acting as if evil has no similar and viable option. Take a look at Darkfire Disciple, a PrC with both divine spell progression and SA that is limited to non-good alignments.

And there is also a large amount of incredibly powerful classes restricted to evil, or at least to those of morally dubious stances.

Good guys DO NOT sneak around!! Geez...how could you possibly think otherwise!

Hiding is absolutely Evil...unless, you're hiding because you're scared. But adventures don't get scared...so again, obviously, hiding is Evil. EEEEVVVVIIILLLLLL!

What next? Such an open question...you sure you want the answer!?!?
