Possibilities for adding desert areas?

Adding the BG2 areas and towns would be nice also. And if you want a desert area Spellhold Island would qualify. It was mostly desert in the game and was not far from Amn.

im not sure how resources are handled, or why some maps take more resources, (i was told cloakwood mines 4 were a resource hog, still trying to figure that out)
but maybe make a medium sized desert map that is just repeated maps. Like no minimap, you come in from the west, and the exit points lead to the same map, but from a different direction, and the map rotated. it is very easy to get lost in the desert, even using positioning of the sun etc.
but i agree with valefort, there just really isnt any deserts around the sword coast. at least not large, forboding deserts that are endless. a desert island to me, would not be thrilling.
