Yeah, Northlander's hewing. The rock genasi from earlier was dealing stable 68 per hit without critting. That obviously required being on offensive.Valefort wrote:A 30 fighter ?

Re: Weapon Defence for Fighters
Really a great example
the damage is not really high, ~42*3 ~126/round.
Take a similar NHewing shieldbasher who has 7AC more, -2 ab
and 3*mainhand (6+4+str9+9) + 3*shield(6+4+9)= 28*3 + 19*3 = 141/round
So he gets more damage and AC than a Twohander.

Re: Weapon Defence for Fighters
Why is the main hand only getting 3 APR? With 6 APR you will have 4 while NH is active. Not saying it changes any calculations, but it should be considered.
Also, with a Two hander IPA is superior to NH, but the question was about doing damage while focusing on defense, you can't have IPA and ICE active together, so the suggestion was to go for NH which is a viable alternative.
Simply put, if you want to have really strong offense you will give up some defense. Increasing defense is possible for a Two Hander build, but it sacrifices your offense.

what about archers that are fighter based? or longbow/shortbow/crossbow users in general
even an extra 2 ac would be a boon for them

30 fighter should definitely consider taking all the combat focus feats. +4 will, fast healing 4 and 20% concealment for defensive situations. +4 AB +4 dmg for offensive situations.

Re: Weapon Defence for Fighters
Last i tried them - it was an awful long cooldown and not worth 4 feats for me, but that was before the concealment. But back then it also triggered randomly and that was nice too.dedude wrote:30 fighter should definitely consider taking all the combat focus feats. +4 will, fast healing 4 and 20% concealment for defensive situations. +4 AB +4 dmg for offensive situations.

Crossbow sniper is very very strong at early levels.Blame The Rogue wrote:what about archers that are fighter based? or longbow/shortbow/crossbow users in general

You can deal very high amount of damage as early as level 2, from distance.
With later levels character usability diminishes.
Longbowmen... those are tricky, because there aren't htat many damage bonus sources.
