Wendi's Services: Haggling, Arcane Elixirs, All Wands

After asking around, Helevorn would be informed that Wendi can often be found in the upstairs lab at Sorcerous Sundries. He might also hear that he should leave a list of what he is looking for.

Having finished an enormous amount of work, Wendi sits down in her lab with a sigh.

"And here I thought business would be slow to pick up again after I was away on Windride for so long," the old woman mutters.

She considers all the business she has done in the last tenday or so:

• haggling down a shield's price for Thriomir,
• selling a pair of boots to, and crafting two wands of True Seeing for, a member of House Darius,
• crafting a wand of Mirror Image and a large order of scrolls for a private buyer,
• crafting a wand of Death Ward and a massive order of potions and elixirs for Helevorn.

Although Wendi generally feels some satisfaction from her work, she now finds herself thinking of younger days.

"I wonder what Mother would think of my little business," Wendi muses...

Wendi is seen haggling up a storm with Kalehir in the East Gate District. The two finally settle on a lower price for the Robe of Eyes. Wendi carries the robes over two women who stand waiting some distance away.

Before I mark down my request, I must show a sliver of gratitude in the respect that you do not force me to seek out a fine-fingered tailor. Specifically, one that could provide me with bags that contain the specific capacity of a thousand coins. I know not what loon, with their fingers deep within the local weavers’ guilds, enforced such as the local means of exchange. Yet in that regard, in openly accepting the same trade bars as the rest of the realm does, you will save me a great deal of personal trouble.

I would hope to acquire two blades, each identical to the make of ‘The Flaming Bastard’. In that regard, I offer and equivalent of the requested amount of 524,000 pieces of gold - split between bars of platinum, gold, and silver.

P.S. I too wonder at the popular usage of bags of 1,000 coins as a local unit of trade. Aside from the difficulty in counting out so many coins for each bag, there is also the risk of those bags splitting and spilling coins all over (especially when you consider the rough-and-tumble lifestyle of adventurers).
