Thank you for the transparency and clarification! Understanding the process is always an enormous help for those of us who would only otherwise just see one side of the picture. It would appear that you were, in fact, able to at least get a couple of the new (new old) blood up and running, which will be a great benefit to the server! And, also, I know rejection letters just can't be any fun to write.

I... uh... would like to think that if some haven't responded after more than a month of proceedings that the HDMs and Admin will take that into consideration? While I fully understand that real lives are just that, and this is (and should be) a hobby we all do for fun, I can't lie and say I'm not leery of a potential DM that can't even bother to respond to their acceptance letter. While the positions are indeed voluntary, it doesn't negate that it is a responsibility that those who apply willingly accept. It's a big part of the reason that I chose not to apply personally- I did not feel that I could offer the time necessary to do the job in a manner that the position requires and the players deserve.

Could just use a generic rejection letter. An example of one I have received

Usually the DM Team does not explain why a Player is not chosen for the ADMship, and along with that a certain silence is kept about the voting/accepting procedure.

Reasons why you were not chosen this time around can be anything from being Player Guild Leadership to a lacking application to past behavior to already being on Staff...and I am not saying any of these things applied to you in particular. But I can say the votes simply were not there from a democratic review by the entire DM Team.

Do not take the results personally, because your role as a Player on this Server is still very valuable to the Team.

Yeah, if the letter above was from this server, I think I just overturned everything that it said.

Feedback is healthier for overall morale, I think. It's like failing an exam, and then not being able to review the content. You're never sure where you went wrong, so how are you supposed to fix it?

This is my policy on the matter, anyway.

At least you got one. Some applicants got no response at all.

The process has been changed several times over the years. More recently, since at least Golem's time I believe, people have gotten feedback. It's mostly up to the HDM handling the paperwork it would appear.
