Thank you for the transparency and clarification! Understanding the process is always an enormous help for those of us who would only otherwise just see one side of the picture. It would appear that you were, in fact, able to at least get a couple of the new (new old) blood up and running, which will be a great benefit to the server! And, also, I know rejection letters just can't be any fun to write.
I... uh... would like to think that if some haven't responded after more than a month of proceedings that the HDMs and Admin will take that into consideration? While I fully understand that real lives are just that, and this is (and should be) a hobby we all do for fun, I can't lie and say I'm not leery of a potential DM that can't even bother to respond to their acceptance letter. While the positions are indeed voluntary, it doesn't negate that it is a responsibility that those who apply willingly accept. It's a big part of the reason that I chose not to apply personally- I did not feel that I could offer the time necessary to do the job in a manner that the position requires and the players deserve.
