Ranged attacks are not deflected by storm avatar.
Storm avatar provides you with Dr vs ranged attacks.
Manyshot and crits still do substantial damage.
Regular attacks also do damage.

Storm Avatar provides 999 DR/- vs Ranged Attacks. So, that is mistaken. Damage is not done, that is what Storm Avatar does. The DR change was to make ranged touch attacks able to hit.

----------------

Regardless of any other decision, we really should make one shot bypass Storm Avatar (maybe make it bypass DR!) and fix that bug.

Last I used it, I was still getting damaged by ranged attacks.
I would have to test and see the actual logs.

Edit:
Just tested. The damage that I was seeing before was elemental damage from arrows/bow/classes.

Thanks Calodan.

It must be physical DR. Elemental damage still goes through, I suppose. That makes sense mechanically.

So, Storm Avatar is based off of Storm Rage, as best I can tell.

And that states:
You can fly at a speed of 40 feet, and you gain immunity to thrown weapons and projectile ranged attacks.
One Shot is able to bypass Concealment and Deflect Arrows spells and Abilities. So again, being able to bypass specific things and having immunity are different things, and not just semantics.

Yup, it is probably based off of that spell.

But, that's the description from the Spell Compendium sourcebook. Both the Magic of Faerun and Complete Divine, however, have a different description.

Magic of Faerun: https://dndtools.net/spells/magic-of-fa ... age--1800/
Complete Divine: https://dndtools.net/spells/complete-di ... rage--751/
Spell Compendium: https://dndtools.net/spells/spell-compe ... age--4250/

Both Complete Divine and Magic of Faerun state "You gain the benefits of a fly spell, and are protected from each direction as if surrounded by a wind wall spell."

Now, the description of Wind Wall states "Arrows and bolts are deflected upward and miss, while any other normal ranged weapon passing through the wall has a 30% miss chance."

Now, given that the "deflect arrows" part seems to match the wording of Neverwinter Night 2's description a bit more, and also due to the fact that Spell Compendium is just a list of spells drawn from other books. My assumption it would have been drawn from the one of those two books, rather than the spell compendium book, which for some reason, has a changed description.

"...while any other normal ranged weapon passing through the wall has a 30% miss chance." Does that mean darts and stones, from a sling?

So Wind Wall causes ALL arrows and bolts to deflect upwards. Period. No Save.

However, One Shot—which is custom NWN2 ??—says:

"The attack ignores all concealment and circumvents any arrow deflection (like that which is granted by Deflect Arrows or Armed Deflection)."

If we hinge the entire proposal on the word "deflection," then it would appear that One Shot should bypass Storm Avatar. But it still has to hit.

And I guess you have to decide which of the 3 books, as reference, supplants the others.
