That is 'bring back' even more obtuse amounts of muling. A low strength character finds a +3 pair of boots, or armor, which they cannot use yet, so it needs to be handed away for storage. Sure, there is that in game storage thing, but I have never used it, and probably never will.

Then, because there are those level restrictions, you will be poorer as a result. Instead of buying a cheap pair of +3 dodge boots, you will be once more paying for +1, +2, and +3 dodge boots. Easily two, or four times the gold you pay today for a simple pair of +3 dodge boots. (That is presuming you buy the cheap stuff I put into the consignment store.)

There will still be complaints of muling, and what not, and other characters having better equipment. Just bite the bullet, leave the FAI campfire, and go have some adventure. Go into a dungeon and see if there is a dragon with a treasure to loot.

Sorry, but the level restrictions boat has sailed. It would cause a lot of issues if they were suddenly reintroduced since you'd have invalid issues with characters trying to login, or would have an unequip script causing items to be dropped/lost, etc.

Just curious, did the level 13 tell you he had 39 SR, or did you assume this? I have never been able to find out these kinds of things from combat logs, so maybe there's a way you came to this conclusion I haven't heard of (if so please share, only thing that notifies you SR stops a spell was a short msg in combat log and a visual effect). If it wasn't the latter though, maybe your blowing things out of proportion?

If this is true, such a DM Reward item would have to go through a Head DM approval process, before being given out, since it is an item of power not available in any common fashion, to everyone.

And while I'm not posting to argue whether it was right or not, or fair or not, it does at least point out what one can now ask for, when being granted a DM Reward.

Thank you for pointing this out!

*adds to Christmas List one SR 40 item...*

I think this sums up this thread in one short quote! +1000 on this.

Yup it does, it shows the mentality quite perfectly.

You can see it in the combat log quite easily: "Spell check 13+16 = 28 vs DC 39 Miss"
That tells you the SR you are trying to overcome.

Oh, we'll shoot, I've never seen numbers in the ingame combat log, is there something I need to enable or download, or is this a recent change? All I had ever seen was yellow test saying SR resisted the spell or something (no numbers). Or is it something that shows up in client extension/logs folder? Sorry I'm just super curious, because I've always wondered how to determine how much SR I needed for specific things.

You mean the mentality that one should have to put in the time like everyone else and earn their way? Yeah it does. Funny how life is like that.......

Highest SR is on a full CHA cleric with Advanced Divine Spell Power. Worked out you can get like +13 CL = 55 SR.

Monk 30 with all their epic feats burnt on Improved Spell Resistance (VII) - 40+14 = 54

Clerics of Mystra/Azuth can get 47 SR at level 13 with the spell Azuth's Spell Shield. Duration for that one is incredibly short though.

Dark Elf /Deep Gnome Monk 13/Rogue 17 could get 57, with all epic and rogue bonus feats burnt on Improved Spell Resistance.
