NWN2 does not work anywhere like that. If the engine says you cannot see something, you cannot hit it without using some AoE ability.

Could be using a potion of see invisibilty, various grenade-like potions could work, maybe of dispel, or dispel being cast. Thats just a few ways to counter it thats within reason.

How so?

Mobs know your spell resistance, know if you're immune to an element and all that. They never do something that has a 0% chance of working.

Ahh in that way, so they could really just as easily use tactics and items that would have a chance at working, or maybe even use items that are considered more optimal to work.

The -only- thing they do not metagame is specific spell immunity.

I have a belt with Magic Missile immunity on it and mobs still love to spam that spell even if it does nothing. It's great!

Spell immunities are buggy for the most part. Its somewhat annoying that spell immunites dont work on AOE spells.

I just tried out my Implosion immunity ring. Without it, I make the fortitude save and fugue myself on a bad roll. With it on, I get spell resistance and no roll. I have a happy cleric now, who has carried that ring over... about 8 RCRs as a quick way to make 1k+ if needed.


So I guess when you encounter an item with spell immunities, it should be tested before sold off as vendor trash.

Try targeting the ground near yourself rather than targeting yourself when you test it, Simian.

You cannot cast Implosion on yourself as the target. I've had to target the ground, and when I do, the Spell Resistance Applies. My character has no other spell effect active.

Wow. OK. Spell immunity items are weird.
