To Improved Critical or Not?

call me mental, but if you don't have UMD, then wouldn't the wands me a non usable item? I mean, sure you can keen up your weapon....if you can. If not, woudln't the talent be better?

The server has an item which gives the effects of Keen without needing UMD though.

Yup the Whetstone, purchased in the secret store in the Blushing Mermaid, or Mist Lake for UD

There are two such items actually, I forget what the other is called. One has the spell 'Keen' and the other has 'Weapon of Impact' on it. Thus you can add the keen property to Piercing, Slashing or Bludgeoning melee weapon.

I think both can be used without UMD.

Yup. The other is the Lodestone, because magnetising a warhammer makes it strike better

Probably, and there are bows called Widowmaker with both Improved Critical and Power Critical feats on it.

Pretty sure that is a DM reward or rare drop. So must of us scrubs gotta use consumables for our keen properties.

It's charged. 2 charges/use Keen Edge/Weapon of Impact and 1/day GMW (CL 15, so +3). Not that great. And for the price you're actually better off buying a Whetstone/Lodestone.

There is a loot version with Keen Edge 1/day which is the one you want. Rarer than hen's teeth, but.

The Scabbard of Keen Edges has 3/day use at Keen (5).
