Anyhow, if you want to make a Bard 26/Guild Thief 4, then maybe a strength based one will work best. You free some feats from Two-Weapon Fighting, you can grab shield proficiency, and just use some Club with Iron Pan model to beat things up.

I see the point of using 3 rogues for fighting purposes.

I think the priority for top down is this:
1. Getting the highest possible Appraisal such that I can reach 72 with items and boosts with 3 levels of guild theif for best possible discount.
2. Get other skills such that I can do any quests/secrets in the game
3. Don't gimp the character so hard that it cannot go do reasonably go solo adventuring.

I created a 19 rogue/3GT/8 assassin that does pretty much that except I don't have songs of competence. I am okay with the bard just having enough levels to max songs of competence.

Or put it another way, I am okay with it not being a bard at all if someone can show me how to build a character and get 72 appraisal.

33 (Maxed skill)
+ 8 (Inspire Competence, at Bard 27)
+ 4 (Greater Heroism)
+ 2 (Fox's Cunning)
+ 2 (Appraiser, requires 12 intelligence character history feat)
+ 3 (SKill Focus Appraise)
+ 1~ (Intelligence of 12 or higher...)
+ X (Skill bonuses from items)
= 53~ + X

You could make a Bard 27/Guild Thief 3. Strength based, which frees feats for other stuff.

The bard spell Appraising Touch gives another +5 to appraise.

A dip into Cle 3 with Trade domain gives another discount.

Tough i think theres a max disciunt nowadays and you dont need to add all possible discount modifiers.

What about going crossbow with the bard instead?

Yep, I heard the max for appraise is 72 with GT discount. Anything about 72 is wasted.

1) Weapon Focus Crossbow
3) Crossbow Sniper
6) Rapid Reload
9) Rapid Shot
12) Crossbow Sniper Master
15) Manyshot

Crossbow takes a lot of feats. It works better as a Bard 26/Fighter 4.

For sure fighter is way better. I have to play around with builds. Can eliminate rapid shot with xbow that gives the feat.

Knight's Heavy Crossbow comes with Rapid Reload and +3 EB. I think it costs about 80k. There are other such weapons too. But it makes your character bound to such weapons. So there is ups and downs to it.

Speaking of xbow..are fire arrows or acid arrows hard to come by since I won't be taking Elemental archer...and for xbow..how important are curse songs/song of requiem etc when I am trying to kill everyone faraway?

Also, for epic skill focus..I don't need to have the regular skill focus first before taking the epic right?

Looking into a strength build, I probably have to get
Armored Caster
Medium Armor feats
Dodge
Luck of Heroes

And I still look very squishy, so I don't think so far that I freed up too many feats from going str unless someone show me otherwise.

I do like strength for the carrying capacity or dex builds though.

Also, let say I do dip into cle 3 for the trade domain...would it be allowed with only 8 wisdom? or do I need to bump that up to 11?

I do like strength for the carrying capacity or dex builds though.

You can buy fire bolts, arrows, and bullets.

Yeah.

Armored Caster and Medium Armor are not needed if you go for 14 base dexterity and Mithral Chain Mail, and you can buy a +3 from the elves.

Dodge feat is not great, it doesn't always work, if at all, and if you do not need it for a PRC, leave it out.

Luck of Heroes is nice, but not 100% necessary.

Shield Proficiency would be better feat to take. Grab a +4 Heavy Shield and you are up by +6 points of AC. It works nicely with Northlander Hewing.

Mirrors, Concealment, decent enough AC... you are not going to be hit that often.

Hmm..dodge doesn't work?! That's bad for my monk >_<' in his teens

Also, about the 3 dips into cleric for trade domain..which is going to be 1 since I probably stop at lvl 28 max, can pick it up even if I only have 8 wisdom?

The RCR is 100% until level 10. At level 11, 95%. At level 12, 90%, and so forth, until 50% at level 20. (Cannot RCR past level 20.)

RCR is not such a horrible thing.

Also on this server, there is that '3by20' rule. You need to have three levels in all your classes by level 20. And yeah, you can get levels of cleric even with wisdom of eight, you will have no spells without some wisdom item, but it is not that big of a loss.

As for perks of the Bard 27/Cleric 3, cleric nets you Shield and Medium Armor proficiencies, so it is not that bad. You might even go for Epic Divine Might. Divine Might feat must be taken on a cleric level.

More looking like a 24bard/3GT/3Cleric..the discount from GT and Domain cleric stacks yes?

It is probably the exact same feat. So the chances are it will not stack.
