Monk 11/Weapon Master 7/Fighter 12
Having played this build up to Level 30, I just want to pass on that it struggled with AC, and that was BEFORE the UMD fix (caster level bug).

In my opinion, it definitely isn't a build that can solo content without A LOT of consumable use.

That said, beating mobs to a pulp with a big stick is priceless!! ESPECIALLY if you go the Gray Orc route!! :twisted:

Yes, I think it does. Northlander Hewing works with the default combat modes, which Flurry of Blows is one. Therefore, the 9 attacks you get with BAB of 26 and Greater Flurry of Blows becomes 6 attacks per round.

Was that prior to a multitude of Epic Store items that make playing a 'monk' a more reasonable feat?

+ 4 (Wisdom with Owl's Insight Potion)
+ 2 (Monk AC Bonus)
+ 1 (Luck of Heroes)
+ 3 (Tumble)
+ 4 (Armor AC from Robes)
+ 4 (Deflection AC from a Cloak)
+ 4 (Dodge AC from Boots)
+ 4 (Natural Armor AC from Amulet)
= 41

Yes, it is not the greatest AC. It falls down to 39 when Northlander Hewing is active.

Potions of Bull's Strength, Owl's Wisdom, Cat's Grace can be bought from NPC merchants for about 120 gp each. You should be able to fit three full stacks of a kind in your inventory. Those 30 potions of a kind will outlast one hour of 'grinding' if the area has no dispels.

Now, what is annoying is the lack of Heal as a class skill. But since we have a strength based build, there is actually nothing stopping you from carrying nine full stacks of healing kits at all times. After every fight, you stop and eat a few until you run out.

Then you can actually purchase Wands of Displacement/Mirror Images/Shield which will all make it easier to tank things when you need the extra edge.

Exactly. One will be consuming potions/heal kits/ wands of mirrors and displacement constantly, because it's not just 41 AC average, it is the lower + mid then Epics that takes time, and AC is thus lower than average throughout the process.

A build like this would shine combined with a buff-caster in the group. Or a Bard, or even 2 bards!!

The build is basically a 'Frenzied Weapon Master' - thus you can get far with just troll slaying as long as you got source of Fire or Acid damage.

Or how about a Monk 11/Breach Gnome 5/Anointed Knight 10/Dragon Slayer 4?

Wisdom based Monk 20/Breach Gnome 5/Something Else 5 could work too with intuitive strike, I suppose.
