The Stonesinger Simsae, returned to the Gate via a ship under the admiralty of Yongfall, accompanied at first landing by other Stouts, Fingerwagglers and Skilled Sailors, has taken up with his Kraak Helzak kin of the Wide, while waiting this Tenday for news related to the recent mission, some official service or another, being related to said Admiral.
But often, quite often, Simsae is around the docks, regarding or guarding a ship, with a special intensity.

In a move designed to prop up the so called soft underbelly route to Baldur's Gate a joint operation saw Baldur's Gate support a Dwarven mission overseas and back to the Troll Claws. They brought with them more Dwarves and cargo. The King declared another arrow had been added to their bow string should any Imps or Devils come calling.
The Devils and increasing reports of Undead and Cultists in the Troll Claws suggested that their foes were looking elsewhere to strike.

In apparent response to the defensive building and posturing of the Dwarves, accompanied by setbacks in the north with the Flaming Fist Offensive. Some Undead encounters were reported along the Chionthar. These eventually spilled out onto the road system south of Baldur's Gate. A single drunken warrior and a small detachment of Guard held them off. The drunk went for more help or drink! the Guards were pushed back and the Undead occupied the road. Citizens arrived and were laid low. Others arrived and pushed the Undead off the road following them along the north bank of the Chointhar. There a cave was infested and fresh tunnels led down further. An expedition pushed forward.
some wandering Undead were thereafter uncovered by adventurers who led a reconnaissance of the caves in force. They pushed back the first waves, encountering Undead, cultists and a single devil, but not the leader who seemed to be mustering huge forces down below. Their intelligence though confirmed the association and the likely plan of striking at BG.
The cave was collapsed by the Devils and a rethink organised.
At the very least some bards were suggesting the war is not yet over.

A second sortie was reported out of the Troll claws this one led by Yhogovolish the Invincible, who it appears had not travelled to Chionthar as first thought. Devils appeared along many of the travelling routes around Soubar but avoided the well defended village itself, which had mustered it's various allies there. But the roads were plundered, many traders and travellers put to rest and it is said responding adventuring or mercenary groups were directly targeted. Those first responders that tangled with Devils reported they feared there was more to come.
