15 Wizard/ 10 Techsmith/ 5 Thaumaturge

You get 3 summons at a time (planar cohort + gondsman + summon), two of those are permanent unless killed.
Or something really really interesting? Add 3-4 levels of Rogue.... You lose a feat, but you get evasion, disarm, open locks and spot opens up and well, it's very very interesting.

Honestly, mage is not that bad. It can definitely be a beast to level up in the first few levels. But when you get to level 5 and you get the summons III spell, it becomes a lot easier. You dont even need gear (it helps) at the beginning. HP gear from the newbie vendor outside the Gate, deflection AC (belt, gloves or head), a pair of +dodge boots and a Regeneration cloak and you are set until your late teens.

I wish I could make it to where you get Tech to level 10 prior to level 20, but Thaum to level 5 is more valuable.

Another build to look at is my favorite and the most Blasphemous for all who worship nature....

I've tweaked this more, later, but this will get you rolling if you want a challenge and fun at the same time.

It's the Drizard build. Druid/Wizard. And yes, it is one of my more fun builds I play. RP as a druid, because there are no ex-druids if you multiclass :D

As someone that's recently switched from a Shaman 20/Warlock 10 build to a Shaman 20/Wizard 5/Thaumaturge 5 build... I approve of this recommendation. SS can do it even better than druid, even, since you get druid spells plus blood magic for an extra +4 CL to both casting classes. 9th level CL28 SS and 5th level CL18 Wizard spells, yes please. Of course, your DCs will be trash with how MAD it is, but that's okay.
