I'm here stating my own thoughts, opinions and criticisms. By no means am I angry or upset if I was I could easily put down this server entirely and move onto different things if I didn't have faith in the server. Now i'm not going to lie and say I have pure 100% trust and faith, that is from my own experience and my experience does no speak for the entirety of the demography i'm talking about i'm sure they can speak for themselves if they wanted to. Playing a villian requires maturity in of itself simply by choice, because it's a hard knock life IC and OOC for villans... ESPECIALLY super-viliansflipside43 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:07 pm Where you do think the bulk of the court intrigue RP comes from if not stimulated among the good-evil axis? As someone involved in court intrigue play, I can tell you there are definitely evil-aligned characters involved as well as more shady neutral characters.
Besides, the main point I see from the statement is to be a mature player and keep it IC. If you are getting offended and upset out-of-character, maybe intrigue play isn't for you. Playing intrigue at court or otherwise isn't a play-to-win scenario and if you are treating it that way, you are doing it wrong. It needs to be a collaborative dynamic involving other players and trusting that they will respect the common element shared with all intrigue RP. The veil is thin and easily unraveled with carelessness.

Well there is a difference between playing an evil character and playing a villain. Villains are sometimes better done by NPCs and when not, tend to have more limited play choices - its almost a selfless act. Evil characters are often the protagonists of their own stories and are only villains in a secondary sense.

I thank you for clarifying your own stance on it Golem and of course I have my own thoughts on how things should be done. But I think Druchii is right its better to just get back on track to the main topic instead of veering off into good vs evil speech. (It tends to get threads locked.DM Golem wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:01 pm Well there is a difference between playing an evil character and playing a villain. I think we are all aware that absolute and perfect fairness is impossible. However the basis here should be willingness to compromise. From all sides. Going into intrigue rp with a bullheaded attitude makes it fun for no one.
