I don't think there's any need to argue about it since the Coronals of Myth Drannor and Cormanthyr had to specifically always be Lawful Good- all of them being sun elves.

Whether they are right or wrong or whichever elven subrace has the right to their culture is up for debate. As far as Seldarine goes, they don't discriminate much.

Plus...

There are a lot of lay followers of Corellon who are lawful. Lawful Good is actually relatively common.

In fact, if we go by AD&D, Corellon's clergy can be any good, and not CN at all:

However, I think Corellon is set to 3.5 alignments in nwn2. Maybe something worth reconsidering.

highly agree with what's stated above.. i.e. go nuts to play a lawful sun elf!
or sun elves in general! they have a lot of roleplay opportunities that can bring about very colorful characters.
I generally disagree that all Sun Elves are, or should be, this monolithic entity of stern aloofness. There are heaps of potential to play along with the tropes. And more depth to the stereotype than meets the eye. gjallahorn's example from their play is a good example of that depth.
It shows that the reasons why this stereotype exists and how it manifests in individual Sun Elves, along with their own personal relationship towards their subrace, is a treasure cave of compelling RP potential. Interestingly, I think it is the nature of High Elven society as being NG-CG in its values. It's what actually allows for many Sun Elves to be LG and still fit in so well, as it promotes the freedom to pursue the best and 'right' way to do the good the society cherishes. And the Lore pretty much leaves it for Sun Elves to take the mantle of herding these cats but without the actual automatic authority. Personally when I think of Sun Elve's the word that comes to mind before 'Aloof', or 'Distant' is 'Ambitious'. And ambitious characters are great for proactive RP.

But to not get too sidetracked from the original post. For build options, if you don't mind being an MAA with light armor I think the Dervish PRC can add some very nice damage and AB. RP-wise the concept of an Elf who perhaps was a gladiator in Calimshan that won their freedom only to dedicate to their kin when they realize they have no other life skills moving forward other than violence, and the call of Corellon the Protector as a redemption into purpose has a very heroic charm to it.
For heavy armor, I would take Anointed Knight, as the elemental damage would work well with the CoC's Dex2Dmg on your blade, and it just flat-out gives some bonus feats that any martial build will benefit a lot from. AK also has the benefit of still being in theme with the CoC's dedicated fighters and their special weapon can harken back to a family heirloom quite nicely if you go for Sun Elf.

EDIT: Come to Baldestone Foundation if you want to RP some training and discuss the build In Character.
