Shifting forms causing lag and crashes - Shifter

We absolutely need people to start uploading crash dumps when crashes happen. We have limited ability to address it otherwise. Zip it and put it on Google Drive or something.

This crash can be caused as often as you like for research, just group up with a shifter who can take epic elemental forms. It has happened literally every time I use it.

Epic elemental shape also crashes my druid, as does 'normal' elemental shape

Latest Test:

I logged in first time in the last 24 hours to Server 1, and choose my shifter toon Panlos Pawfoot.

The first thing I did was select the Feat Epic Elemental Shape. It worked, and my toon shifted no issue.

The second thing I did was select the Feat Epic Animal Shape. It worked, and my toon shifter no issue.

The third thing I did was enable Expose Weakness, enable Combat Expertise +5, selected the Feat Elephant's Hide, then selected Epic Elemental Shape...and I crashed to the Desktop.

I have the crash report. Who wants to look at it (I can send a PM)?

EDIT: I realize this is very incomplete testing, but I ran out of time today. I’ll continue tomorrow.

Latest Test:

That's actually kinda helpful. Elephant's Hide has a VFX of some sort, doesn't it? Perhaps it's not playing nice with Epic Elemental...

Here is what I tested today:

1. Logged in, enabled Expose Weakness feat, selected Epic Elemental Form (Water). Shifted fine, no issues. I returned to original form, then deselected EW.

2. Enabled Combat Expertise +5 (as only enabled Feat/etc.). Selected Epic Elemental Form (Water). I crashed to desktop. I have a file for Rhifox.

3. Logged back in, made sure everything was disabled (Feats/etc.), selected Elephant's Hide, and then selected Epic Elemental Form (Water). I crashed to desktop. I also have this report file for Rhifox.

4. I logged back in, made sure everything was disabled. I selected Combat Expertise +5, then selected normal Wildshape form (wolf). Shifted fine, no issues. I returned to normal form.

5. I loaded up on CE + 5 , Elephant's Hide and Expose Weakness, and then selected Epic Elemental Form (Water). I shifted fine, no issues!

At this point, I Rested my toon to get back Wildshapes-per-day.

6. After Resting, I selected Epic Elemental Form (water). Shifted fine, then returned to normal form.

7. Selected CE +5, then selected Epic Elemental Form (Water). Shifted fine, then returned to normal form.

8. Loaded up CE +5, EW and Elephant's Hide. Selected Epic Elemental Form (water). Shifted fine, then returned to normal form.

9. Tried all loaded up as before but with selected Epic Animal Form (tiger). Shifted fine, then returned to normal form.


At this point, I had to go back to work. And, I need to wait our a Server Reset. Based on the above experience, maybe having used normal Wildshape form first, somehow "fixed" the crashing to desktop, for following Epic X Shape feats? But just an assumption until I can get online after a Server Reset, and retrace the above steps.

Casting no other feats or spells. Both Druid elemental and shifter epic elemental shapes mostly crashed on first casting however occasionally one worked but so far have not got past 2 without crash. Druid and shifter other shapes all work fine.

I waited for a Server reset, then followed my earlier testing to see if I could replicate it.

1. Same

2. Enabled CE +5 and selected Epic Elemental Shape (Water). Shifted fine, and returned to normal form, deactivating CE.

3. Selected Elephant's Hide, then selected Elemental Shape (water). Shifted find, and returned to normal form.

4. Decided to change the script, and added CE +5 and Expose Weakness to the running Elephant's Hide buff, selected Epic Elemental form (water). Shifted fine!! Returned to normal form.

5. Decided to select Epic Animal Shape (Lion). Shifted fine, then returned to normal form.

6. Selected Epic Elemental Shape (Fire). Shifted fine, then returned to normal form.

7. Selected Epic Elemental Shape (Water). Crashed to desktop (EW, CE and EH were all active since Step 4).

I'm not seeing any reasonable pattern here. I saved the latest Crash Report and PM'd Rhifox with it.

I got nothing there. Actually, don't have a Local/Temp/NWN2 in my installation. Which is maybe because I use a Windows Emulator on an Apple iOS computer.

Someone else is going to have to provide it. Sorry.

Doesn't seem to just be shifter. I was on my druid and wanted to be a epic elemental. Crashed restarted tried again crashed.

Some testing done , appears my gog game doesn't crash to this so I can't send .dmp files , but steam game does crash .
