I would have loved to try, as I really liked what i see here.
But then again, this app doesn’t even let me sign in with my Google account. Also it won’t accept if i try to create a new account. I don’t know why.

I have to be a party pooper and be the voice of that brings a bit of disharmony to our new AI Utopia.
I find some of these portraits, especially of the young heroines, to be too perfect. It is off putting to me as it strikes me as very unrealistic.
Perfectly symmetrical faces
Utterly flawless delicate skin (not so much as a freckle)
Professionally applied make-up
Hair fun colors, with every hair, eyebrow and eyelash perfectly in place.
This stereotypical ideal perspective on beauty is offensive because it completely lacks any
REAL character at all.
Not a spec of dirt, zero wear and tear - nothing worn, no sign of fatigue or stress. These are supposed to be hardened, experienced, warriors and rogues and mages. But when I see them I am thinking, spoiled entitled trust fund kids playing dress up.
I have to admit, the orc looks pretty cool.
I don't necessarily disagree, but I don't necessarily agree with this, either. While my personal preference is the more "real", (or rugged, or dirty) pictures to represent the daily lives of characters; to me, the character portrait used in a bio can represent the character at any point in the day/week/month, etc. They can kind of be "glamour shots". If that toon would
ever look like that, then it's ok.
For me personally, after over 1,000 iterations of Emmanuel, I settled on one that I thought, "Ok, this is muscly, but not overly. He is handsome, but not supermodel. And he has the right expression." I showed someone the picture, and their response was "Wow, hot druid." lol! So perhaps I'm not the best judge of whether a portrait is too pretty/hot/handsome/supermodel.

Yeah, this is unfortunate.
On the Triel discord we have had the Midjourney generator within since last year, where users can send me their prompts and the players can view the progress, select what they want variations or upscale of, etc. I pay for the subscription but the players in the Discord can benefit by using it for free.
A week back or so I was working on a system that synthesizes player voices into various unique voices, with a narrator involved which read roleplay with a pretty professional sounding output. The community members in the Discord enjoyed toying with it some with their own input and prompts.

I tried Midjourney, it was also great. But paying after the trial was a no go for me.
Sadly I’m not in your Triel discord, but my character has a writ of service.

Well I was being a bit of a troll. But even so, not having enough character, was just one side of the arguement I was trying to make. The other side is not be a slave to fashion and homoginized beauty standards.
What irritates me is the cliche beauty standards associated with a lot of the portraits that I see in general: Wealthy, young, white, thin, long straight hair, delicate flawless features, etc., etc....
Beauty is boring. Dont conform -be ugly!

I had to chuckle. Every single time I've tried to create a character of mine the default was not a white femle, but Asian. I have to specifically tell it she's not Asian.

Like Ashling I got a majority of the female pictures I generated as asian ethnicity. And felt horrible for some of the negative prompts ive given the AI. So I am not certain its so universal with beauty standards and in the end, its rather subjective id like to believe

But theres certainly some tropes and cliches out there Tekill and I for one will concede in a heartbeat my characters look a bit polished and photoshopped. But that is like Emmanuel said as well, also a momentary idealistic glimpse of the character.
I didnt want to create a portrait of the moment when my old paladin Aerin rolled a 1 to mount her horse and landed in a pile of its manure instead after all
Made a little video for Shandrils biography when I get around to update it

Not going to lie, I've been having a lot of fun with this trying to come up with decent portraits for my characters.
