So, here's some quick testing. level 17 before taking Augment Summoning and level 18 with it. I've tried resting and logging in again to see if the bonus applies this way, to no avail. Also, I've only tested it with Chain Devil. One HD from Conjuration focus is there, it seems.

Some of the XP costs seem very low, especially for wands. All in all, this sounds like a great idea and I'm excited to see time and effort being spent on looking closely for solutions to the abundance of consumables. Hope all the crafters will jack up the prices!

DaloLorn wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 6:44 amAdd a second dimension to consumable costs, allowing crafters a little more leeway with what they charge for their products. At the moment, crafters have basically no profit margins to speak of, because everyone knows how much gold it costs to make an item, and that they can just look for a cheaper one. By allowing the crafter to put a gold value to their time and energy, they can choose to increase prices (or not!) without being immediately blacklisted by their would-be customers.
I fail to see how this will improve anything for the crafters, let alone their customers. The way I read it, this allow those who play a lot to craft more than those who play less, due to having a larger expendable xp budget.
It even penalizes those who play or grind less, since they now have to spend a bigger portion of their in-game time getting xp to pay for their crafting, and here grinding is far superior as a function of xp/hour than role-playing is — especially given that role-playing require involvement of other players, whereas grinding doesn't.

If the gold cost to craft stays the same, or is not at least significantly lowered, then this xp cost is some extra that has to be paid, making every craft even more expensive than it already is, and the crafters now have to put a gold value on their active playing time.

All combined it introduces a not insignificant risk of a few people cornering the market, due to being highly active, as the competition cannot keep up with the xp crafting costs, or the competition no longer feel their time invested in being a crafter is paying off.

The OP is a bit outdated, with regards to gold costs. They're dropping to PnP values when the next patch finally comes out.

I personally think you could up the exp costs slightly, but I think this is a cool idea. :handgestures-thumbup:

I think a proper utilization of Mudd's would solve that issue. Then there's also forums where people can post their items for sale, and where people can post that they are looking for items.

We did try to encourage that with the Mudd changes that went live today. (Bugs notwithstanding. I'm working on the one I've heard about so far.)

With most of Mudd's fee now being charged only on a successful sale, taking a risk with various consumables is going to be less painful... and the Craft tab's had its capacity increased, so a single crafter can post more consumables at once.
