Here and there about the sword coast, flocks of birds are found dead in macabre clumps. Seemingly they plummeted out of the sky mid-flight.

Rumor has it a small hamlet directly south of the Wood of Sharp Teeth was found completely abandoned and decimated. The bones of the villagers, striped clean of flesh, lie bleaching in the sun uncovered. The houses are burned and ransacked torn apart by some large beasts. Scattered wildlife lies all around, too, both plant and animal. Tracks lead off into the woods from the village. There is a small funeral pyre by the old cemetery there, containing the bones of some animals and some larger creature, although most of these of been removed. Further north, along the edge of the woods, is a rather large hole by a big tree, carefully covered over.

Travelers along the Lion's Way pass by the crude path that branches off towards the hamlet, whispering that a strange mist is said to be responsible for whatever happened here.

Green Fields

A band of adventurers visited the place after hearing rumors of a drow raid. Having met with the survivors, led by Dharva Scatterheart, the small band then ventured into the haunted ruins of the halfling settlement. What happened there is a mystery to most, but the halflings are disassembling their makeshift camp, ready to reclaim the ruins of their home.

The halflings of Gullykin speak of a blight affecting some of the local apple trees, seemingly at random. The relevant trees shed all their blossoms, whither and die seemingly overnight.

The various rumours of mysterious shadowy deaths become past tense. While tavern talk remains fond of these ghost stories, new rumours of related deaths come to a halt.

The fey of Cloakwood have begone to mourn, pixies, Nymphs, and Dryads have been spotted crying together around trees of the wood.

A slow and steady stream of Helmite pilgrims travels the coast, heading towards the Temple of the Guardian in Nashkel. They have heard rumours of the Vigilant One himself having appeared in the town and, each for their own reasons, mean to visit the place.

The people of Ulgoth's Beard and the surrounding region were treated to quite a sight this evening as a massive red dragon, larger than any seen in recent memory, flew directly over the small town before heading out to sea and making a bee-line towards a fleet of ships flying the flag of Amn that were sailing north not far off the coastline. One of these ships was rumored to be a treasure ship laden to the brim with gold, all the others being heavy warships escorting it allegedly on its way to Waterdeep. The dragon could be seen by the dumbstruck onlookers swooping in and quickly decimating the protecting ships, setting them all ablaze with its fire breath before plucking the treasure ship from the sea like an eagle snatching a fish from a river and flying off with the ship in its arms, heading northeast the way it came.

Gullykin

Some may have seen a recent band of adventurers meet with the Mayor of Gullykin and then make their way to Durlag's Tower. Later on some may have seen the band return with added numbers and worn looks and urgently speak with the mayor on what was witnessed in the Tower.

The Sword Coast is miles long...but many do share the same inns, taverns and campfires. In these places, a person is seen, traveling amongst readily known companions by many, sometimes known as sailors, friends of the Elves to be sure, merchants and traders of information and more....

These companions—Soora the elven mage of the airy elements, and Elaria, mate and adventurer of the Whistling Wanderess and more—walk and speak with this person, as if they have known him, for a long time, both as friend, and even intimately....

But this person, at first, his face seems familiar to so many, as it very well should...but something is amiss in the appearance, not so amiss as to be wrong, but also, not
right....

It is then that one may see the resemblance to he that carried the name Hoihe, and still does...but it is now not just the features of Man that they see upon the face of Hoihe, but that of...is it true?...that of an elf. There is no denying it.

But some great event—either of suffering or of great success—Hoihe Dacino, carries the half blood of an elf. And it is, now, as if it always was this way—natural—but some may wonder more....

Hin travelers to and from Gullykin and hin denizens within Gullykin are animated about the Mayor requesting aid of adventurers for tasks related to Durlag's Tower and the Gullykin Crypts as well as the Gullykin auction of a unique map of a previously untouched part of Durlag's Tower.

A group of adventurers may have been seen entering Gullykin and then leaving for the Crypts below the Village. Later on, some may have seen the adventurers return and engage the Mayor of Gullykin and a halfling woman in a heated argument about the fate of a map of Durlag's Tower found in the Crypts by the adventurers. The argument ended when one of the adventurers teleported away without the Mayor's permission, prompting the Mayor to ban all of the adventurers from Gullykin until the map was returned. Halfling Stalwarts then may have been seen escorting the adventurers outside of the village walls and posted descriptions of the following adventurers now banned from Gullykin until the map in question is returned to the hin village:

Seth Siger
Thorinwolf Warfare
Lillian Ashby
Vudish
Penny Quickfeet
Erza Scarlet
Ta'nu
Deacon
Aindon Gaendion
Elvina Aira-S'efarro
Daeva Diablerie

((The actual names of those above are not posted as banned, just a physical description of each person is posted as banned.))

Some may hear of much commotion in Gullykin as a convoy of Flaming Fist mercenaries approaches from the north and takes up hired position around key points of the village. Rumors spread that apparently the Mayor of Gullykin has hired the Flaming Fist to guard two valuable maps in the possession of the village. One map is up for a high priced auction, some of the proceeds of which are to be used as payment for the Fist guard troop. The other map was returned by some adventurers that were previously banned from the village for running off with it. The ban has since been lifted after the adventurers returned the map and publicly apologized, with Duke Belt of Baldur's Gate himself standing by as a witness, curiously attending with the Flaming Fist entourage.

Adventurers may have been seen again meeting with the Mayor of Gullykin about finding out more about an area revealed in a map of Durlag's Tower, a map entirely unrelated to the map recently auctioned by the village of Gullykin. A member of the Amnian Spelunking Society may have been seen to also meet with the adventurers and the Mayor, before the adventurers and the Spelunker headed off. They later may have been seen to return, the adventurers living and the Spelunker dead, and after the adventurers spoke with the mayor about a recent foray again into Durlag's Tower, the group parted ways.
