*All across Baldur's Gate city proper posters are put up after the recent trial by mostly unseen people*
*In a easily read common script with a drawing of two red eyes above the text*
The Radiant Heart aids the foul drow!
A Radiant Heart member is brought on trial for aiding the dreaded drow! And is then prosecuted and defended by a member of the Radiant heart and a former member! Even the jury included their members, and the judge supported them!
The Radiant heart clearly supports aiding and association with the dread dark elves who lurk below the ground, enslaving and murdering good citizens! They even now bring a disease to our fair city's gates!
Don't allow these dark elf allies, this Radiant Heart who flout all law that do not suit them walk free from consequences.
Upon noticing a poster, a female in a pale hooded cloak stops to read it before swearing under her breath and rips down the poster.
After spying a second and destroying it as well, she begins searching the city destroying every poster that she comes across.

A notice is put up on the notice board in Baldur's Gate, the Shrine of Illmater, and at a few other visible places.
A Call For Aid!
In the Name of the Broken God, the Lord on the Rack, He Who Endures
Aid is needed from the good people of Baldur's Gate for a band of needy freed slaves. The Adorned of Ilmater and others with mercy in their heart attend to the health of these poor sick souls, but an urgent appeal is made for food and clothing.
If you can find it in your hearts, please deliver such south of the Wyrm's Crossing, where a camp for the sick lies, a safe distance from the city.
Please do not approach the camp directly. Leave the donations at a safe distance, within sight of the Flaming Fist, and one of those staffing the camp will see them safely distributed.
Please, provide aid to your fellow souls; and give generously.

Nëa buys as many new, fine clothes as she can for 30000 gold from Aello (and any other tailors in the city, should it be necessary to go to more). Different sizes and colours. And then drops them off on the table inside the Temple of Ilmater with a note:
"For the freed slaves. Give the rest to the people who live in the sewers."

*Colwyn Hereford, apparently somehow affiliated with the Ilmateri can been seen at the camp day and night, watching over the occupants and aiding the healers. He takes his turns, spelling Ameris so that he can rest as the priest's skills are more necessary to be rested and then put to use than his own. He serves as well to act as liaison between visitors and the Ilmateri to keep them free to ply their healing. During his stay Candlekeep sends an acolyte to take samples in order that they may pursue a cure for the strange ailment. During all of the hustle and bustle a sign appears propagandizing the faults of the Radiant Heart. When he finds a break from the visitors he walks across the roadway to remove it, muttering to himself."
"This is a place of healing, tended by the faithful of Ilmater. The actions of the Radiant Heart are irrelevant to the curatives taking place here."

More flyers are seen circulating through the taverns, inns, and streets of Baldur's Gate, with a particular interest apparently paid to the East Gate district:
RADIANT HEART ABOVE THE LAW?
What does it take to put a criminal member of the Radiant Heart behind bars?
One of their order was brought to trial only the other day, for aiding drow and bringing a camp of plagued slaves they are keeping TO THE CITY'S DOORSTEP, but the Dukes' justice apparently doesn't apply to this group!
Even after being FOUND GUILTY, the member of the order was not jailed but SENT HOME WITH HIS FELLOW RADIANT HEART MEMBERS to their compound, members who also served as prosecutor, defense, and jury in his trial!
What does it take for justice to be served when members of this order are considered better than you or I? Would we have been able to walk free with our friends after a guilty verdict?
Stand up for justice!

The sentencing of Ronin Marcus, Squire of the Order of the Radiant Heart, was officially announced to have occurred in the Northern Farmlands arena. His sentence: beheading by one of the Order of the Radiant Heart's own for the crime of treason - specifically the tolerance of aiding of drow.
The rumors that follow are of the mundane to the outrageous. All of them, however, speak of a female Drow who had unmasked herself in the crowd, seized and beheaded by Duke Eltan himself. A final plea for mercy from the Silver Rose saw the paladin's beheading withdrawn, a mark of banishment from Duchal Land seared into the forehead of the accused and a threat of death by Eltan's own hand if he ever returned.
A few additional whispers flitter about in the hours that follow, some mention the Paladin's retrieval of items from the Radiant Heart Chapterhouse under watch of the escorting Paladin of Tyr and the crowd that followed. Others murmur of the public stripping of his armor and rank from the Order of the Radiant Heart on the outskirts of the Duke's lands before he was banished, never to set foot on Duchal soil again.

On the eve of the same night of Ronin's sentencing, there is some uproar along the docks of Baldur's Gate, rumors of a mage in white robes hiring fighting men to go hunt a pirate. After some time, a fully crewed privateer filled with veteran fighters pull away from the docks along with a party of adventurers. It is said the number of fighters numbered 50, with additional seasoned sailors to man the ship.
In the early hours of the morning the ship returns, minus the mage in white or any adventurers. The decks are soaked with blood. There are few sailors still manning the sails, there faces white and many collapse with exhaustion as the boat is tied to the dock. They recount a horrific battle, babbling about an illusion, zombies, flashes of searing white light, demons, angels, an echoing voice in there minds, and blood everywhere. They are not entirely sure who was fighting who, claiming all who did not hide where slain. They recount the mage in white robes and her companions throwing the dead bodies of the fighters overboard without ceremony. Others babble about a sacrifice to Umberlee. They recall being terrified, and obeying without question the orders given to them. Others mentioned something about dropping the mage and her party off at Ulgoth's Beard, and then fleeing the area to avoid any further involvement in said parties affairs.
Later that day, the sailor who did the hiring is seen passing out shares of gold to the relatives, companions, and others who associated with the dead. That night, drunk in a tavern, he claims to have been visited by the mage in white robe, who gave him the gold share each dead fighter or sailor earned, along with instructions to hand it to there family, or friends, or whoever was close to them. He claims the mage told him the fighters had fought well, with honor. He says with skepticism that she also claimed that however they lived in life, there last hours where heroic and redeeming. He babbles on about how the mage looked profoundly guilty, and quickly left after handing him sacks of gold, most of which were blood stained. He speculates the gold had been removed from the bodies of the dead. He complains she left quickly then, without making sure or helping him hand the gold out.
The sailor seems loaded with gold, and mutters about not being able to find all the beneficiaries. He also mutters about how unnaturally white the mage's robe seem to be.
Arriving back with the ship from Waterdeep, Tolan and his friends, Ayla, Kitten and Shylia, stand at the railing, watching the dockworkers secure the ship. As the ship is secured, Tolan pays the captain and walks down the ramp, his friends following suit. He doesn't talk as he make his way through the city, a distant look on his face.
Even when the few beggars or street-urchins ask him for meager coin, as he and his friends move through Baldur's Gate, does he do anything but drop a few pieces of gold into their waiting hands. No words accompany his actions, and he just continues on without ever hearing or acknowledging the praise and thanks he receive.

A horn sounds from within the Radiant Heart Courtyard in the Farmlands and is said to have been followed by a guttural bellow of sorts, the sound of which sends a flurry of birds skyward. Those nearby would perhaps have heard the clattering of arms and armour as paladin within it's walls rushed to the beckoning call. At this point, none seem to have a clear idea of what happened (or may be happening still) behind closed doors of the Chapter House.

Arriving at the public trial of Dens Bross in the Docks District of Baldur's Gate, the Knight of Tempus, Cain Gellantara, comes to the defense of one Sera'mela Meriele who stand accused of attacking members of the Flaming Fist after she, supposedly, was forced to listen to their rude remarks about the upcoming hanging of Dens Bross, whom she had expressed her affection for.
Offering her words of calm during the trial, and pleading the jury and Flaming Fist Officials to have mercy on her for her acts of foolishness brought on by love, Cain is quick to move to the gallows in the Eastern Farmlands when the sentence is passed that Dens is to hang, and Sera to be publicly humiliated in the stockades.
Once there, Cain dons his helmet and large shield, moving to stand in front of Sera after she is locked in the stockades, intending to shield her from any fruits, vegetables, or stones thrown in her direction. He is joined by several others, and together they keep her safe while Dens is hanged. When the Flaming Fist intervenes and tries to force them away, everything descends into chaos.
Using his strength and endurance, Cain and the others standing with him keep the Flaming Fist occupied for as long as possible. He even allow himself a small smile as he is dragged to the Flaming Fist Prison in cuffs, as Sera somehow managed to free herself and was teleported away by an elven female wizard, taking Dens' body with them.
