Telia would be informed by temple staff that Aeili has not been in the temple since the 18th of Nightal when there was a Mageduel tournament held in the northern farmlands arena, and that it might be advisable to contact her via Sending magic because her current location was unknown.

After being absent from the Temple for a solid month, the sun-elf priestess finally returned. She would talk at length and late into the evening with High Priestess Neela Daren, before being found the next day handing a rolled & sealed scroll to Halbazzer Drin of Sorcerous Sundries fame. Other than these two encounters, the reserved sun elf maintained her current demeanour of reclusivity while she toiled away at her own private projects away from prying eyes.

After a few days, Aeil took a heavily weighted satchel bag into Sorcerous Sundries. She exited half a candle mark later with a bag that seemed somewhat lighter, but brimming to the full with a vast variety of spell components, many of them isolated samples in tiny, stoppered glass vials.

She left a letter with the Temple, took her staff in hand and hit the road once again.

A tenday after her final departure from the Temple, Aeili's letter was finally released to the public.
"Dear Mystra's and My Beloved Faithful,

It is with deep sincerity of purpose mingled with heaviness of heart that I must formally and permanently announce my resignation as temple priestess in the diocese of Baldur's Gate.

I am returning to my people, the sojourn of a wandering soul finding the last steps of her journey are close at hand. A priestess in her service I shall remain, fear not my flock, yet my call is complete in these lands and Fate beckons I return to face the fears of my past, and the certainty of what lays before me.

I will miss you all dearly. You are the stars in my night sky. You are my hope of the future. You are my true gifts, each one of you. Where magic is, there I shall be also. None of you shall be forgotten to me, as long as my memory remains within me.

Yours in the depths of Mystra's graces,

Aeili Azenci."

It had been some months of quiet in the Temple of Mystra, disturbed only by the discreetly hidden din of mages, masons and artisans of silver and gold. At long last the entire temple had been given a much needed facelift, a true marvel of the wonders of magic. A discreetly placed memorial plaque in a distant corner by the entrance hall is the only token of commemoration for the legacy fund left for such purpose by a now-departed Mystran Priestess of some renown in the local region, a legacy that is now complete in everything it hoped to achieve.
This temple is dedicated in loving memory of Lady Aeili Azenci,

Magician. Astrologer. Mentor. Friend.

Lover of the Weave, and beloved by the Mother of All Magic.

The stars shall ever guide your path.

1st Day of Eleasias, Year of the Arch, 1353 DR.

A tall elven woman with a proud posture, dressed in a boldly cut mage's garb passes the streets of the Docks District with confident steps. She acknowledges the following gaze of a nearby dockworker with a contented smile, before passing the gate towards the Temple of Mystra.

However, when reaching the inner chambers of the renovated temple, her expression changes to sheer awe and excitement. Taking some steps forward from the softly humming portal serving as the entry to the Temple, she finds herself staring intently at the lively flowing light-spheres of magical energy, encircling the center of the chamber - the living manifestation of the Wave. Though she was here a few times in the last three days, the magnificence emanating from the whirl made her as astonished as on her first time here. What magic could make such power to submit..? No. This is not submission, but a willing obedience... A welcome chill runs down her spine when she reaches her hand in the flow, delicate fingers trying to touch the elusive lights. With sudden determination, she passes over the flow, carefully avoiding the teleportation circle in the middle of the chamber, then greeting Priestess Neela with a nod and a smile.

As she finds out, the person she's looking for is not in the Temple now. But that is not a problem. She has time.

Before leaving a few minutes later, she walks up to the pedestal at the back of the chamber to bow before the skillfully crafted statue of the Godess of Mysteries. Her eyes reflect back the dancing golden lights encompassing the statue, as excitement builds up in her once more.
Such a marvelous place to practice and learn!

As dusk drew to its close on the 16th eve of Eleasias, 1353 DR, the Brow Star, known amongst astrological and arcane circles as Mystra's Star, shone through misty, high altitude stratocirrus cloud cover across the length and breadth of Faerun with an eerie azure halo.

Rumours abound as to the meaning of the sign, but many human astrologers and soothsayers seem to come to the same conclusion about it: the soul of one of Mystra's highly esteemed servants has passed that evening into the Goddess' eternal embrace.

Elven diviners, arcanists and servants of Sehanine Moonbow would undoubtedly perceive the significance of the misty, partially concealed twilight sky, that this elven servant was being ushered into the beyond by her other goddess, The Luminous Cloud.

The elven woman with tall structure and chestnut-brown hair returns to the Temple of Mystra, but now wearing the symbol of the Lady on a brooch pinned to her robe. The woman carries an overstuffed backpack and greets Priestess Neela with a warm smile. After a short talk, she leaves the Altar chamber towards the Scholar's quarters.

Not much later she returns without her luggage and examines the Chamber with a new interest in her eyes. Then she stands in the glowing circle in the middle of the chamber and considers her environment deeply in thought. Stepping out of the circle, she counts her footsteps until the entrance portal before leaving.

A tall, bearded half-elf with a pointed hat enters the church and strides with care through the portal into the center chamber. There he greets the priestess, and speaks quietly with her.

***This is a post you are welcome to play off of if you should wish to interact with Nedrin Starbrow at this time. He is interested in joining the church, so please feel free to reply to this post IC.***

A hooded figure enters the altar chamber but stops after a few steps when noticing the man standing next to Neela. For a moment, she stands there in silence, considering the man and keenly listening to their discussion. When the man mentions something about joining, a smile appears under the hood and the figure walks closer to them. Removing her hood, the elven woman nods to the priestess, then turns towards the man in the pointed hat.

"Though your wish probably requires the attention of our leader, I may help with some of your questions. I am Syndreth Fieryfey, a Mystran and a scholar here."
She bows slightly and looks at the man with curious eyes.

The bearded half-elf turns and greets the elven woman with a warm smile. Beneath the pointed hat his green eyes follow the odd, but fascinating lines along her face. Still smiling, he speaks to her in a deep and measured tone, "Thank you, Lady. My name is Nedrin Starbrow, a hedge-wizard and transmuter of some small accomplishments. It is a pleasure to meet another who serves The Mother of All Magic. Are there any tasks at hand that I might assist the church in until a time such that I can gain an audience with your leader?"

The woman's gaze lingers on the green eyes of the man, then nods slowly.
"There would be tasks, yes, but unfortunately I can't give any details to outsiders.." she makes a small pause, but continues before the other could speak "If you truly wish to join the Temple, you will have to prove your intentions to Nezkreal Sezifear, a paladin of the Lady. She leads the church now, that the respected Great Priestess Aeili left us..." takes another pause to see the reaction of the man, then continues "Nezkreal is on a mission now and no one knows when she will return, but I have a good guess about what she would require from you, if you are interested." finishes with an encouraging smile on her face.

"I see..." the wizard states matter-of-factly as he takes in the subtle nuances of both her tone and inflection. "I will hear your guess. What do you feel will be asked of me?"

The woman's face is mostly emotionless, but her eyes glint with satisfaction when she hears Nedrin's answer.
"I may show you the Scholar's Quarters in the meantime. There's a pleasing reading lounge in the library, where we could talk this out. I would also have some questions of those small accomplishments that you mentioned."
