Welcome to all the ones who have recently joined with us!

Hi new to BG but not NWN2, thought I would try and get back into it. Met with nothing but frustration. Runs good, got sent to the dock area starting out, ran all over town and couldn't find any starter armor or weapons to save my life. Ran into a place called Cloak and Helm, guess what? They don't sell armor or weapons. The place I did fins everthing was 1000's of GP. Which is fine once you get started, IF you can get started.
3 hours of downloading, install, connecting, creating character, not finding anything I was looking for. 1000 gp and no where to spend it.

I am going to have to chill from this for a day or so,
never even got to fight anything.
THEN I noticed its all PVP? I may never be back

There is little PvP overall, only if you want it in fact. Regarding the weapons and armors that you can afford with 1000 gold you can find them in the eastern farmlands area now. That area can be accessed if you exit the Eastern District of Baldur's Gate, then just follow the road until you see merchants near a crossroad, you should find what you are looking for.

While the city itself is well guarded and you have nothing to fight there you'll find a grevayard near that merchant who sells basic weapons and armors, filled with plenty of brainless skeletons. That area can be a bit challenging though, an alternative is to follow the road to the south from the eastern farmlands then immediately the area along the river, to the east.

Don't hesitate to send a few tells to people or DMs, the problems you ran into can be solved in a few minutes of chatting.

As Valefort says, send someone a tell in-game if you are confused or get frustrated with something. People are in general very helpful.

All areas except the Nexus and the Fugue are PvP enabled but server rules are quite fair when it comes to PvP - you can opt out of any and all PvP. Cities need DM oversight for PvP.


It sounds like you were away for some time so I'd suggest to re-read the server rules, PvP-rules (to tell the cues and be able to avoid it) and the IC laws of the lands posts (latter in Elfsong). There's some useful potions in Sorcerous Sundries that will help you out in those early levels too. Don't forget to pick up that +5 HP cloak from the Basic Armor guy.

I am currently playing the character K'yon Dobluth'oblodra.
I've played on this server years and years ago twice before actually but never really for a longer period.

I am pretty sure this will change this time around. I am working on K'yon's story trying to write whenever something comes to mind which is currently quiet often. I would really appreciate being critique for it so I can improve on it. I already got quiet the nice hints but there is always room to improve. Also one of the hopes I have is to encourage people to RP with me, maybe some of the stuff in the stories can be seen as rumors and help getting an entry point when meeting with K'yon.

This is a great server and I am looking forward to have fun with you guys

Hi there!

I've been running around the server for a week or so, trying to get a character concept that I can both level up easily enough and still enjoy RPing with. I normally enjoy rogues and casters with silly flaws, my last PNP character was a half-elven thief-mage who couldn't stand dirt.

At one stage, I was really tied up in the Forgotten Realms but I'm startled to find out how much lore I've forgotten - a lot of my books were on my old, deceased PC so I'll need to start rebuilding that collection in a totally legal way.

At any rate, I've tried to read up on server history a bit on the forums and so much has happened outside of what I do recall from my sourcebooks! I think my first character proper might need to be a bit on the insular side to as not know what's been going on for the last five or so years!

I used to do a lot of creative writing too so I'm looking forward to getting those brain-muscles some exercise!

Admin-wise, I'm based in the (not-so) United Kingdom (European players, I was on your side, sorry about what happened! ) and am a single parent who works full-time so play time may be patchy at times. I'll do my best though, and hopefully I'll be able to get my (character) names known around the server very soon!

Otherwise, it feels like this is just the newbie corral and all us vets are just watching rather than welcoming!

While certainly not the oldest or most experienced player on this server, I'd like to think I'd be approachable with any questions about the server & the community any of you have.

Hello! It's nice to meet all of you thought I've already spent a week or so in game grinding and catching some RP here and there. Was able to make my self apart of an event but I was pretty useless it seems. Heh.

I'm a veteran of the game and have played NWN2 for a long time on many different servers and occasionally DM'd on a few. I'm kind of rusty and a tad disheartened already as it seems my main character will likely end up getting shelved or deleted soon but I have a couple of other concepts, anyhow.

The server is great, though, and it's the most DND feeling server I've been on. Makes me feel like I'm actually playing the old Baldurs Gate games for the infinity engine again. A lot of thigns other servers said were impossible I've seen done on here with so many tweaks and unexpected rules to make the game more fun. I haven't even made a bio or character backstory for any of my characters yet so bare with me... creativity is hard for me to muster.

Greetings all! I'm new to NWN2 and the server, but I have played tabletop and NWN1 for a pretty long time. Excited to see all of you. I'm currently playing Faelar Lurycia and had some great roleplaying interactions with some of you, looking forward to more!

Hello! New here as well. Long time NWN1 PW player; uses to play on a server called Nexus. Lots of fun. Been tinkering around off and on with PW's on NWN2 since launch.

I've also done PnP for a few years, too. I'm not much of a power builder, but I get by.

Login is DeepFriedMoose, first and currently only character is Jonah. Been thinking about trying an Underdark character too, but holding off until I get established.
