A tall, bulky veteran walks up and peruses the wares. Spying the Warhammer he says:

"I've 100 bags for that warhammer, or this battleaxe in trade." With that he pulls a fine battleaxe from his pack, that bears the following enchantment:

Greater Flame Battleaxe: +3EB, +d4 Fire, Flame Strike (12) 2x per day

A blonde girl walks up to the dwarf, twirling her hair between her fingers. She studies the sword and smiles then.

Hmm... that sword does look amazing! I...I don't think I've seen anything quite like it before...

Quite the stout price on it as well...
she mutters and ponders.

I could offer you 900 bags, this nice shiny amulet and these cool pair of boots if you like? Fitting perfectly in the latest fashion! She flashes a smile.

////900k, amulet +4 AC, boots +4 AC for the shortsword +3 EB, D4 cold damage, +4 hide, +5 move silently

*A blond haired man steps forward*

My name is Kol'ang and I see you have a couple of fine spears for offer. I would like to make a couple of bids on them. I will offer 100 bags on this one and 50 on the other. Does this sound acceptable?

// 100k Spear +3 Vamp Regen
//50k Spear Alchemical Silver, extra damage bludgeoning

Considering that it's very doubtful that you yourselves would agree to the proposed trade if the roles were reversed, it casts a dark shadow over the offers. I'm a merchant, dealing with any worthwhile items, seeking a profit. Most of the proposed trades offers me a loss, I'm afraid. You would have to step up your offers before they can be taken with consideration".

"Well now, given the similarities between the two, I'd say that's a bit harsh lad. Depends how much you value the spell on the Battleaxe I suppose, but to say the hammer is much better... well I reckon it's a little better.

But, I'm not one for axes myself, so if you wanted to take the axe in trade for the hammer and some gold, how much would you want?"

After being ignored Kajan taps his fingers to his lips.

"Selling for a profit ey? Personally I don't see the point in being as wealthy as you if I didn't spread it around, but maybe thats why I'm not wealthy. 120 bags is all I have, without trading me shirt."

*He rummages in his bag and pulls out a helmet*

"I'll trade you this helmet and 20, no 40 bags of gold for that ring, if its really profit you're after, you won't mind me comments now will ye?"

"That offer is several times lower than what I got it for. I'm not unreasonable, but I do need to turn a profit on the trades themselves or I would not make them. Any items of some note are acceptable, even preferable as it means less time spent restocking, or substantial amounts of gold to cover that cost as well as the item's actual worth."

No, you did not understand. I want to trade my amulet (+4 AC, Armor Bonus vs Neutral +1) plus 100 bags for that one there (+4 AC, +3 HP, +4 Open Lock).

As for the sword, that was asked tongue in cheek as I know it is worth more. The leathers I was just asking if you knew about what they are worth.

"I'll take the bid into consideration. The difficulty of finding replacements for my stock is taken into account in this, as I'm only offered gold."
Jon Smythe addresses the dwarf-that-is-speaking-of-the-two, in reply:

"One can never have enough, as it seems...correct?" says Smythe, implying something...or not. "But if you wish to conclude this deal, then I can adjust to my coin offer by showing you this..." Smythe unveils to the dwarf an exotic blade of nearly unsurpassed beauty, so much so that by grasping its hilt, the wielder is granted a finer countenance, even a strength of personality unknown, previously.

Image

"I do think that you, merchant of stoutness, can appreciate its ore qualities, its balance, its poise. It is ancient, bearing divine beauty forged from energy held within the clouds, such that it grants an immunity to shock. It is so fine, indeed...that would I add this to my offer for the scimitar, you will understand that I would lower the coin offered. Does this item hold value with you?"

Smythe watches closely the face of the dwarf, to see if he is skilled to even appraise such an item in its rarity, or will Smythe have to impart his own knowledge to the dwarf.
