The gray-clad Kaltyra continues to visit the church of Ilmater. However, on top of helping herself to as much food as she is allowed, she also spends time training the local new pup, Lucky. So far the commands she is working on are 'Mark' (Go to the corner by the front door), 'Sit' and 'Stay'. Stay seems elusive, but Lucky is a puppy after all.

She is polite to those working and those passing through and leaves when troubles comes in by way of her nature.

An older man with a thin physique visits the temple occasionally, looking for Saint Merielle. After a few unsuccessful visits, he decides to write a short note to her and leaves it with the Sisters at the temple.

[Sister Juna politely tells visitors that the newly wedded Meri has taken leave and is on her honeymoon, though the details of where, or her exact return are not known.

The Sisters and the temple volunteers handle children, and the daily run of the mill things at the temple in the meanwhile. Fortunately there is well established routines and order, which makes the task much simpler.]

Jonas arrives at the Sanctuary shortly after the daily demands of palace court. The tall aasimar grins at Addy and Juna as he heads into the kitchen with a package and puts its contents away.

"Had to replace all that bacon I cooked up during Meri and Tessian's reception," he explains to the Sisters.

He spends about an hour helping with the children before heading toward the Black Dragon Gate and turning south away from the city.

After a private meeting with Duke Entar Silvershield, Jonas heads immediately to the Sanctuary of Ilmater to discuss his good news with Brother Marcus and Sisters Juna, Addy, and Rachel. While Jonas goes about gathering up the possessions of Saint Merielle, Juna gets all the children ready to move, and together the paladin and the priestess make their way with all thirty-three children to the new orphanage.

The aasimar spends some times getting the children settled in with Juna and setting up Meri's private quarters for her. After this is done, he leaves the Mercy Orphanage and heads over to Istari tower to offer his congratulations to Volo and Roxy for their recent nuptials.

[Late in the evening, Merielle arrives at the sanctuary to collect her paints as she wishes to do some painting while on her Plea/honeymoon...

Imagine the woman's surprise to see her things gone from the temple. In a state of near panic when she finds the children also absent, A grinning Brother Marcus, and a Cryptic Adolina send her to the 'place where there is laughter...' to collect what she would like... and assure her she has nothing to worry over.

A bewildered Merielle heads off to investigate this new bit of oddness...]

After enjoying a dance at the wedding reception and then cooking breakfast for Nari, Celia, and Elias, Jonas felt the urge to check in on Juna and the children. The paladin made his way from Istari tower to the Mercy Orphanage; the house he'd recently bought and had renovated.

Much to his surprise, Jonas found a bewildered Meri standing in the doorway of the orphanage upon his arrival.

[She looks around wide eyed at the -house- and blinks at Jonas when he enters. A long arguement of sorts ensues. She insists there has been a mistake, but her protest dies at the laughter of children.]

'This is what you wanted, Meri. Your dream. A place for the children.'

[The sister looks to her brother and shakes her head.]

'No, dear brother... This is more than I dared dream...'

[The grinning paladin happily takes the stunned saint on a tour. She leaves without the paints that started the whole journey. She left in a shocked, but pleasant state, and makes her way south.]

Jonas brings Tomar and Ivaris on a small tour of the orphanage. As he enters, Jonas slides a new children's book, a gift from Kaden, onto the shelf nearest the door, and grins at Juna as she glances to the newcomers and notices his actions.

After showing his fellow paladins around a bit, all three men present the children with some hard candy gifted by Grunga of the Flaming Fist, and then proceed to discuss plans for the future.

[For now, until Meri returns from her honeymoon... Sister Adolina oversees the soup kitchen at the temple. Sister Juna oversees things at the orphanage, both places staying aptly busy. Sister Rachel and Brother Marcus and continue to tend the wounded and the lost... Mercy smiles as the humble Ilmatari continue their work.]

Dajala and Nari spend an evening telling stories to the children at the orphanage while Ivaris and Volomirror help keep guard. Vauk visits, though the children get to him after a bit and he departs. Tomar also comes by to check in and talk with Jonas a bit. There are a few other visitors off and on as well. Jonas himself watches over everything with Sister Juna, but is (easily) persuaded to cook up a huge platter of bacon, which is devoured in short order.

There seem to be thirty-four children instead of the usual thirty-three this day. A very young little girl, estimated to be around two years of age, with curly red hair and blue eyes is also present. She wears different, more middle-class clothing than the rest of the children present. Late in the evening she runs over to Jonas and reaches up for him. Smiling, the paladin picks her up, presses a kiss to her cheek, and murmurs to her. It is only then that most of the people gathered (except Volo, who seemed to notice earlier) realize the startling resemblance the little girl has to Jonas.

*after things die down and the general hangers on have left the building geirard enters talking to the orphans and doing some slight of hand tricks. After a bit, he casually walks to the girl that looks alot like Jonas and gives her a necklace shaped like a golden heart with a sunburst behind it.*

//anyone with any degree of spellcrat will determine it is enchanted to some degree.. when asked the girl will probably say something akin to the really dark man in orange who was really old and talked funny.

She sometimes sleeps, though fitfully, fraught with horrible nightmares, or she just watches everyone come and go with a slight smile. She takes the dark looks, strange whispers, and curiosity all in stride. Most in the Temple are kind, and she shyly greets them if they approach, saying her name is Triel, and she is waiting for one of the clerics so she can offer her help to the Temple. She never accepts the free food, saying that it is needed more by those with less than her, and that she has a handful of coins to buy food for herself.

She takes the dark looks, strange whispers, and curiosity all in stride. Most in the Temple are kind, and she shyly greets them if they approach, saying her name is Triel, and she is waiting for one of the clerics so she can offer her help to the Temple. She never accepts the free food, saying that it is needed more by those with less than her, and that she has a handful of coins to buy food for herself.

Just to quote a bit of Meri's teachings. She is wholly unbiased without cause. No one gets turned away unless they are directly causing problems and/or a threat to the temple. The temple staff would not turn anyone away... and If it is guests turning you away, that would not be allowed by the temple staff.

If it was a mechanic issue with the alter... you may still rp a donation to the temple. The most likely scenario for coins being refused is because one) the temple is not suffering a shortage of coin [and is not in the habit of accepting coin in the first place]. We mostly accept donations of clothes and food, healing supplies [which can be rped]. =)

Kaltyra visits with Triel, having no trouble with taking charitable food for herself. The training with the young puppy Lucky is going much faster now that there aren't 33 children to distract, confuse and spoil the animal. Kal is quietly pleased with the training for Lucky to tell people when she needs to be taken for a walk.

She doesn't talk as much or act as welcome as she once did, nor does she linger when training for the day is at an end. She continues to tell Triel she should wear a head covering. Whenever tensions get too high, Kal simply leaves as usual.
