*The Midnight Service at the Temple of Mask*
Image
"Brothers and sisters in shadow, I was reminded recently of the value of alliance. In undertaking to support the deeds of your allies, so also do you increase the value to yourself. This is not new wisdom, but it is something that those of us deep in shadow often miss, for the darkness blinds us to others who seek as we do."

*The high priest places a beautiful dagger of silver metal that seems almost misty upon the scales on the altar*

"A service was offered to another God who stands with the Lord of Shadows, and a gift was given for that service. The service was to steal away the chance for success by those opposed to our shared tenets. The gift a rare and powerful reward. And now we shall pass that reward to the Shadows as it should be.

Step forward now, brother and sisters. Add your coin and gems to this offering that the Shadows might bless our efforts and allow only allies to share those shadows."

*After the congregation has filled the scales with their tithe in thanks for Mask's blessing, the high priest intones the ritual and shadows gather to swallow the altar and the scales. As the shadows dissipate the offerings are gone leaving the scales balanced once more.*

"We are worthy, as is our payment to the Shadows. Go now, brothers and sisters, and remember, aiding your allies is as effective a path to wealth as standing alone a solitary shade amongst the glittering gold on the streets above. Shadows guard.*

Word on the docks is the Wanderess left for a short voyage towards one of the small islands still within the Chiontar. Half a day later it returned, anchoring out in the bay with the crew returning on a rowboat. The moon elven Captain seemed utterly disappointed, angrily discarding a shovel near some barrels on the pier. Her crew on the other hand seemed to return with large armfuls of crabs, each the size of an adult man's chest - with one particular crab as big as a half-orc. Whatever treasure they left to find appears to have been replaced by giant crabs.

A flyer is put up at the merchants outside Baldur's Gate.

20th of Nightal 1356 DR
Eastern Farmlands, Baldur's Gate

To whom it might concern,

After selling some spoils from my latest adventure, I found a curious item left near the trash barrel close by the merchant.

A Staff of Power!

I assume someone accidently left it behind, and would like it back.

Should you wish it back, then please contact me at the Helm & Cloak in the city.

If I have not heard from anyone, who can reasonably attest to being the owner of said item, I will consider the matter resolved.

Tymora's Grace,
Adrian Baker
Painter and author

Shortly after the flyer is put up, another smaller one is attached below it.

I have been informed that the staff was left by a friend of mine for new adventurers to find.

Anyone new to the region, who posses a flair for wizardly or sorcerous magic can pick it up for free.

Leave a note at the Helm & Cloak in the city.

Tymora's Grace,
Adrian Baker
Painter and author[/size]

In the afternoon of 27th Nightal a small meteorite would plummet from the heavens and impact near the Guard tower in the Eastern Farmlands of Baldur’s Gate. The adventurers who were present to witness the impact would gather around ground zero to inspect the smoldering meteoritic specimen. After the specimen was allowed to cool and subsequently examined on site it was determined to be pure mithral.

Expectably conversations ensued regarding how to proportion the mitral among those who witnessed the impact and happened upon the scene to inspect the site.

Lady Netanya would instruct Nalissa Colds take possession of the Mitral to eventually smelt it and apportion it among the stakeholders. For bookkeeping purposes Lady Netanya would compile a list of the stakeholders and their desired compensation and post it the message board in Baldur’s Gate.

The job of filling the crater left by the impact would be left to some other hapless sod.

In the "Blushing Mermaid" the sailors and drunkards recently enjoy the company of a woman wearing a hood pulled so deeply down into the face, that noone has been able to recognize her yet.

She usually doesn't eat or drink anything, ehe doesn't even sit.
Instead she prefers to stand somewhere in a dark corner, perhaps waiting.
She arrives at late evening, and she leaves soon past midnight.

Noone has heard her speaking yet and so it is unknown, what (or even if) she is waiting for ...

Over the course of few days an odd visitor to The Shelf of Many Books have been coming in the library. He looks more suited to do battle than someone interested in literature. As out of place as he is he spends most of the day reading books in the dark corners on the building. He talks shortly to Librarian Janice who gives him direction and guidance. He seems lost in his chosen books in solitude until closing time. Wheter he finds what ever he came for is not clear.

Lately, a lean figure walks up to the Orphanage in the afternoons, comfortably finding a nice spot to sit at the side of the building, far from the door, but sheltered by the roof. The woman - evident from the frame - wears a light gray shirt and hood, spends the rest of the sunlit hours observing the people and the happenings of the street, if nothing else, showing a watchful presence upon the building's vicinity.

If the stray kids try to near her, she would awkwardly wave them off at first. On the second day though, somewhat growing used to their presence, she sits under the roof with a book in hand - it's cover hard and colorful with curious figures - she would offer them to tell a tale of fairies and heroes of long lost, enchanted lands.

When the night comes, however, she silently stands up, attention drawn by the whispering voices of the quietening city, to finally dissolve between the growing shadows of the narrow street.

Hidden: show
If any of the Orphanage's keepers inquire her, she would clearly explain her purpose around the building.

A very strong and statuesque warrior picks up one of those parchments and after reading it she seems amused.
"MAY AS WELL ASK PEOPLE TO FIGHT NAKED AND UNARMED"
she would then pocket the parchment and head to the Warrior's Rest and pray to Tempus in said tavern on her own.

Seemingly to suddenly appear at the Shrine to Eldath outside the Halls of Inner Light, the Masked Druid is seen giving obescience to Eldath there. When asked why, he explained that he was avoiding the Shrine in the Reaching Woods due to the conflicts there.

Image

He spoke to a couple of the members of the Halls, who told him that he was welcome to worship at the shrine when he needed to.

Image

He then shifted into an average looking canine and walked off. If anyone were to be asked about the dog, no one saw the dog or a masked man leaving the palace district.

In the middle of the night, loud noises and lights were heard over the north wall of the city. A large group of adventurers arrived to an area cordoned off by the Fist, the countryside having suffered a burst of immense magical energy.

A blonde man was seen to converse with a Fist lieutenant while a nearby crowd speculated in what could have happened or been at fault. Not far from the scarred land, a small group was seen huddled around someone.

Eventually the crowd was dispersed by the soldiers.

Soon after, a detachment of Flaming Fist troops were seen at an Estate in the Wide. Rumor has it that Lady General Moruene was among them. They stood watch while the General entered, and escorted her away upon her departure, with nothing of note occurring in the interim.

A figure, heavily shrouded in magic was seen leaving the estate soon after, patrolling the district.
