there are new low level areas and adjustments to current areas being made for the UD to help ease the pain
keep an eye on the server update thread to see what area and what level range goes in and post feedback here

Also Alchemyst, I can see how your "only 1% of partying is about RP" experience has come to by, that's only natural when you party with a other newbies.
If you try to spend time with more experienced UD players you will see that many of us take the Lore pretty seriously and RP to the best of our potential. Sshamath is an alternative, cosmopolitan drow city with very interesting lore.
UD itself is, even among the surface players, considered a place of better and higher quality RP than the surface, it's the levelling that prevents those players from playing here and yes, there are efforts to try and fix that issue, mainly with new areas and modification of the present ones, some of these efforts are already seen in the update log

.
That being said, yes, the first 2-3 levels are a living hell and epic leveling is pretty hard (on the bright side it encourages RPing because the RP exp are better than grinding

) but if you tolerate these and quite some solo play, I feel that you will be rewarded in the end.
The 7th Circle has been an effort to organize UD players and possibly counter those issues, however you people need to take initiative as well.
Everyone can RP being a member of the Circle, since there are no requirements and even recruit other members. Many people don't use the forums, or don't do so really often and we need to enable those too in a team effort to improve the playing conditions down there and bring action to the place.
Giving up on the UD because of it's drawbacks, even though one likes it, is not a good thing for it's future. People were complaining about lack of builder attention but look what we have now: we finally we got new areas down there and if we go on to demonstrate how we care about UD I believe it will improve even further.

and through the 7 th circle you'll be able to access help , buffs , RP and even the surface , if you have somthing to do there .
Its not easy to RP reasons for an epic mage to help for example a level 3 deep gnome theif ... or to help an earth genasi and an imaskari reach the surface to trade . Through the 7th circle Rp'ing such assistance would go a lost easier and more plausible.
the leaders are NPCs so thats good , with a simple shout like '' the Runner sends words to gather '' a DM could round up evryone without having to tipy toe around about how such a party would come to help each others.
Also with the new tool char bio accesible IG i'd suggest Elde you consider recruiting on the spot people you meet and are interested , ask them to add '' 7th circle insigna'' and there ya go, you're in . there's your badge. because only a fraction of UD pop. comes on forum lets be honest. Redirecting them to it will just en up in failed recruits half the time.

Gruk, that's actually a damn brilliant idea! Recruiting on site with request for adding emblem on description would be great as I've had an issue with people not using the forums for a while now.
Thanks a lot.

i'd jut like to underline the awsomeness of the Illithid hive , it is spectacular and very dificult for a spell caster , or a low will warrior im told. In any case it is not what i was expecting when there were rumors of this map coming out , its by far much more.
great job.

Yeah...
Still great area! The items need a little work but the area is really well done, once I stop getting stunned it will be one of my favorite places in the UD.

Yes, you need a Magic Circle against Alignment, or possibly an extended Mind Blank, cast by a decently powerful wizard (say...Valshar

), and if they manage to dispel those you need backup, or they'll eat you alive

. I love the place, to be honest, a great job. I am also a bit sad the items arent more useful, but hell...it's just equipment

.

I have been there once only, and now the area is off limits for RP purposes, so I wouldnt know about True Sight...why?

Oh no man...Warlocks own everything in the UD, and everything above apart from the White. It's not like they have a fair chance...they just blow up the place

. It's been done already

. True Sight, or not!

I'm with Aelcar on this one diz. My warlock can pwn anything in UD and "Walk" to the surface.

Yes they have true seeing. As I have killed the overmind many times. It's not a problem with a warlock. We never need rest. That's the bane of that place. They dispel most and make them need rest. "if" They somehow magically manage to beat my stupid high drow sr. Then they have to beat my ridiculous high save against dispel. Then if they manage that. They can swing at me on my some 50+ all time AC with a 50% unlimited miss chance while I do ungodly amounts of AOE dmg per round that can be cummulative depending on which Invo's I'm using. And that's just the start of it.
