Akgol hastened through the streets after a pleasing evening spent in the Spider's Kiss among friends, well the drow sort of friends anyway.
He revisited his tryst with that oh so delicate tiefling in his minds eye as he veered of the main street down a familiar alley way in order to save some time.

A frown crept upon his brow, it had been worth the plak'la but he risked being late to the sermons earning the ire of his masters. A sardonic smile twisted his lips as he regarded the street urchins gathered by a stockpile of discarded crates, no doubt redistributing the spoils of this cycle's thievery among them. It hadnt been that many years since he had been one like them, to believe his luck to have... what was that? chanting! He swiftly turned frantically invoking a prayer of protection.

He barely made the turn as a robed arm ending in a skeletal hand cast out of the shadows to point at his chest as surges of arcane spellpower lept from it towards his chest. Staring in disbelief at the hooded figure that had hidden in the shadows he clutched his chest and fell over to never rise again. The finger of death had proven enough.

The urchins scattered in the blink of an eye, all thoughts of greed displaced by the instincts of survival. A misfortunate cripple was left to fearfully watch the hooded one lean over the corpse of the young male in quick search. In terror he saw the figure gain a halfmask from a belt pouch and return it to the owner by mouth.

A disembodied whisper next echoed in the cramped alley: "None crosses the Phantom and lives!". Then the hooded one vanished from sight.

Heart pounding the cripple sat watching the shadows for minutes before gaining the courage to hop over to plunder the corpse.

Rumors say the feared being known as the Phantom Wizard has not been seen in the last few cycles at the School of Necromancy, nor in the City of Dark Weavings in general. However, few talk about it, fearing he might be right behind them, hiding in their own shadow...or closer...

The rumours spread like wildfire along the streets, a marble skinned rivvil had grieveously offended the Temple Mistress while she graced the Gloura's Wing. No, the rivvil had been publically whiped into submission by the High Priestess Lilith in the bazaar and brought to justice upon the temple summit to suffer in unfathomable torment. A passing baker claimed he had recently been in the presence of the temple summit and heard inhuman screams of anguish. No, it had been a tiefling who earned the ire of the temple...

Whatever the truth may be Sshamath stirs with the praises of the Spider Queen...

A public notice is posted that Magister Guilhem is no longer affiliated with the 7th Circle.

After coming to the meeting and proclaiming that Drow society should be democratic, free, equal, equitable, honourable and under his command Guilhem was stripped from his Title as Magister and cast out.

Public notices have been put up detailing his strangely excentric behavior and removal from the Circle. He has been deemed unfit for command and duty. (by request)

Rumor has it that in the wake of the mage Guilhem resigning his position from the Seventh Circle, his one time aide and current ally, the Lady Alienor has quit the Circle as well.

She has been overheard scoffing at the declarations by the chapter master of the Circle, one Ilphryssin Arkentlar, calling him a fool drunk on power and a self-promoting nitwit who seemed unaware that the Circle was not created solely for 'his' personal advancement.

She apparently added something regarding his lack of knowledge about proper governance and chartered trading organizations, as well as his amateurish efforts at propaganda. But none who heard her are willing to repeat her exact words out loud lest the Circle act to save the besmirched 'honor' of its pompous leader. Still, the Dark Weavings Bazaar is abuzz with rumors of the fracture within the Circle and whispers and knowing looks are passed amongst the citizenry within cycles of the above mentioned events.

Previously unheard of the yath'abanen of the temple has begun preaching the tenets of the Queen in the streets near the end of every cycle while offering small prayers and the blessing of Lolth upon the children.

Occasionally, as time elapse, a yath'aban is seen returning to the temple with a young jalil in tow.

A young shebali jalil timidly entered Gloura's Wings with a message for Yath'tallar Lilith and any leading member of the Yath she could find. The witnesses (apart from a runty duergar and a minotaur too drunk to notice) could hear her murmuring something about some sort of Envoy waiting for them at the Spider's Kiss. As they entered the building, everyone else was thrown out more or less politely, so the nature of the encounter or the identity of the mysterious emissary are yet unknown.

A yath'allar was seen by faithfull attending the sermons at the temple as she exited a stairwell covered in fresh blood while laughing wildly. It was that Lilith, you know the one with the spider tattoo? No, it was a daughter of the Sshamath family. Diluted as all rumours go it spreads throughout the city.

Kar'myr has taken steps to reclaim lost property during the Alhoon war. Some claims the recent rumors of destitution of the Magister Militium of the circle and the first faern of the Crooked tower Ghuilem would be linked to the jalil's demands.

Rumors of the street say that Kar had entrusted her slave to Ghuilem for the duration of the war , she would've sold her orc to him as a rental with promise of purchasing it back after the war if it still lived. But the crooked Faern then released the the orc being unable to maintain the feeding costs in meat and ale . The Jalil further claims that she never received payment for the beast.

The strange story has yet to be received in any court and the local law enforcement have made no official comments on the matter.

In the meantime , the impatient witch offers the sum of ten bags of Plak'ka ( 10,000 Gp ) to any slave hunter that would bring her back her property. To be delivered in chains at the spider's kiss.

Rumors of a violent encounter deep in the mists of the Darkwoods are spreading through the city. The reason and outcome of the fight are still unknown, and given the poor reputation of the area, it is unlikely anyone will investigate

Rumor has it that the the mage Guilhem has been paying a king's ransom in gold for rare tomes, folios, maps, tapestries and other primary source material on the ancient Illythiiri kingdom of Miyeritar. He is said to be researching its destruction by the sun elven kingdom of Aryvandaar in the first of the Crown Wars. There are whispers among merchants who deal in such rare artifacts that the arcane master seems more interested in securing Darthiiri accounts over those recorded by dark elves.

Long, endless chants could be heard last cycle coming from the Temple of Lolth. Some say they were interwoven with the screams of the dying...however, no one thought it a good idea to get a closer look

Adventurers passing by the campfire at the heart of West of Varalla's reported a strange, thick mist difficult to penetrate even with magical means, blood blotting the floor and walls, and an amount of corpses all around. The sinister scene is difficult to explain, and no one has a clue on what can possibly have happened.

Rumor has it that following consultations with an envoy from Bregan D'aerthe's leadership in Menzoberranzan, the mercenary guild has recommenced operations in Sshamath. Though the group's local facilities in Varalla's Passage have been damaged during the final stage of the recently concluded war, the guild is said to have substantial funding for both operations as well as reconstruction.

It is further whispered that the faern, Guilhem is to take a prominent role in guiding Bregan D'aerthe's activities in the area.

Rumours of vile deeds in the tunnels spread through the streets. A yath'tallar has been assaulted, nay killed, nay she is alive. Whatever the truth of it a proclamation is made throughout the city.

The divinely gifted man called Shur is wanted alive or dead by the Temple for questioning in regards to assaulting a High Priestess of House Sshamath, the charge is agraved by the act of leaving witnesses behind as he cowardly fled the scene. A reward of 10.000 plak'la is offered, no questions asked.

An elder of the Talonan faith will make an appearance at the Temple offering assurances of peace within the week or the Temple will condone a purge of the heretics of said faith.

The proclamation is signed by Yath'tallar Lilith Sshamath.

Lolth tlu malla.
