The Halls of Inner Light has quickly stocked up on food, buying many reserves of meat, salt, and barrels. the Heartfire Tavern starts having salted and smoked meats fill the stock room, and begin to spill out into the rest of the tavern seemingly overnight. Another run out finds clothing stores having their stocks of cloth purchased and transformed into blankets, and stuffed into pillows. Barrels of fresh water are delievered en mass at their request and are taken into the prayer hall.
They are clearly preparing for something, either a large influx of refugees, or a major slumber party.

Seeking Healing Moss
The Halls of Inner Light has found it's healing moss stock far to low, and we are eager to bring it back up to sufficant stock to continue to care for patients that come to see us. We are willing to pay 100 gold per harvest (item).
Please see either High Lady Alyssia, or Levtari for the bounty.

Aurelien Amon spread word that a large horde of undead, lead by a vampire who summoned balors, was destroyed in the graveyard near the Gate, with the man claiming to have lead the various groups that brought down the undead menace, in the end.

Hearing the claims a Redhaired man with a Blackcloak would be seen laughing around the campfire in the Eastern Farmlands a new Darksteal dagger at his hip. Still picking off chunks of the undead from his clothing.

In a very loud and public display a very drunk and seemingly very angry Salim el-Faddir, the Mad Mage of Machinery as the locals have come to call him, was seen arguing with Kellan about the Demons of Orcus.
It was at this point that Salim, BRAZINGLY, screamed at the top of his lungs...not caring whom might listen:
"Hi, Everybody!! My name is Salim El-Faddir!! And I have been building weapons to fight DEMONS!!! And have been TESTING THEM! ON DEMONS!! DOES ANYBODY CARE!?!?"
After the Morninglord of Lathander, Kellan, chided Salim for his activities, warning him that Salim "Was becoming the very thing he sought to destroy"...Salim was then approached by a local tax-collector, who promptly asked him if he had paid his taxes. Likely to change the direction of the conversation.
Already greatly heated, and already angered...his eyes, which have been replaced with Crystal balls, glowing RED with fury...
..Salim proceeded to drop his PANTS. And expose his genitals to the Tax office. He then proceeded a tirade of rude gestures and profanity before DARING the Flaming Fist to arrest an Archmage...and then vanishing in a flash of light and the sound of angry yelling to an unknown destination. Likely to continue his mad schemes elsewhere...

A well dressed and mannered sun elf can be seen leaving a message to the following places and also another copy for the public city board.
- The Halls of Inner Light
- The Darius Estate
- The Radiant Heart Chapterhouse
"To the attention of the Halls of Inner Light, the Order of the Radiant Heart and the Darius family,
I am a scholar from Evermeet and I have been in this city for a relatively short time, though this was enough to stumble upon the many problems currently afflicting this city. I have spoken with many concerned about the current state of affairs and I have been explained that you have a good amount of influence and knowledge of recent events.
I would be interested to speak with a representative of your factions or institutions to gather information and help to the best of my abilities.
I am sure that some sort of course of action is already in motion or is perhaps already planned, I would like to hear from you and understand.
The people is getting angrier and little information has been spread about any sort of solution to the recent troubles.
I humbly ask to know more from you, I will be at the Elfsong Tavern for any reply.
My most sincere and kind regards,
Handir Evriluin
Scholar and Bard"

Outside the ruins of the Darius Estate, a number of employees could be seen bringing numerous carts to the entry.
The carts are filled with a lot of ruined things - rubble, burned wood and shattered furniture, and other detritus from whatever calamity occurred there in the previous tendays. Later, carts return, full of smoked and salted fish, and numerous other foodstuffs and drink. A blonde man, accompanied by his staff and recognizable as the Steward of the House can be seen organizing the distribution of such to any who wished them, in the recent times of shortages.
The Fist is called to supervise distribution and keep the peace. No matter how heated distribution gets, or what anger is shown to him, the blonde man maintains his composure and simply seeks to aid the others.
Calmly, to those who listen, he expresses his frustration at the situation, and that he wishes to end the demons that caused this, for hurting his family. The manner which he speaks of these creatures makes it pretty evident that there is no love or trust between the House and the demonic forces in the city, despite whatever wild rumors the common folk may have heard or spread.

The many who had gathered outside the ruins with heavy anger would look to their families first accepting the food and returning to their homes for the time the anger they felt cooled. Many would come from around the city and line up graciously accepting the food given freely. The food seem to lift the spirits of many.
The Fist is called to supervise distribution and keep the peace. No matter how heated distribution gets, or what anger is shown to him, the blonde man maintains his composure and simply seeks to aid the others.
The Fist would have to settle a few headed disputes especially when it came down tot he last of the food being given out as there were still many hungry and unfortunate souls that did not get a bite to eat.
Upon hearing his speech and how it was delivered many began to believe that they were just as unfortunate as the rest who were affected by the events going on. Though there were a few individuals that now knew if House Darius wasn't to blame as a whole then they would put there hatred against just one: "Carah Evenwood" The crowds would disperse but everyone could tell that this was not the end of it.

A few days later, a posting is put up in the Marketplace outside the Lyre a few places.
The People of Baldur's Gate,
My name is Derik Ranloss. Some of you may have heard of me, some may have not. Know that I am the proprietor of the Last Anchor in Ulgoth's Beard, have served the City's interests on several occasions including but not limited to the Ghost Singer some time ago, the 3 sea monsters that plagued the trade lanes, commanded several forays on behalf of the Dukes during the first half of the Dragonspear war and helped train City Watch and protect refugee caravans during the second half. I hold a position on Duke Eltan's security advisory council at court.
I write this today in support of House Darius. I can assure the populace that this House is not a house of Demon worshipers. There was no ill intent or malice in the events that took place that caused this incident. I have sought information regarding this incident first hand accounts and verified it via confirmation from others researching the same incident and the cause thereof. There was no evil practice that took place here, merely lack of knowledge of the properties of particular magical artifacts that the enemy used to their surprise and advantage.
While I may have my differences of opinions with House Darius over many things, I was also once a mid-level member. I can assure the public that this House does not practice demon worship and is not aligned with Orcus, Polvich, or their allies. I can also assure the public I write this statement of free will without coercion of any sort, nor does House Darius know I have done so until they read it themselves. I have stood on the line against both demon and devil worshipers and the Outsiders themselves in protection of Ulgoth's Beard, Baldur's Gate, and the interests thereof. I have battled cultists and their masters. The House Darius is neither of these.
While your anger is understandable in this incident, be mindful that when you call yourself to arms, it is against the proper enemy, not one who would be an ally. If you march to battle, be sure beyond doubt that your foe is truly your foe. Do not let yourself fall to rumors and rash action. Then, will Tempus look favorably upon your efforts and grant strength to win your fight.
Derik Ranloss,
Proprietor of the Last Anchor
Member of Duke Eltan's Security Council
Warrior of Tempus and wielder of the Holy Blade, Warwake

A note is attached to some of the posters.
Since when do we take advice of demons from warriors? We should have specialists address the issue! Evil hides where you least expect it! It took me half a day to find out they're pacting with Orcus! Have them testify to Tyr's cler undead oath, let it be known what those vigilantees are up to! If they claim to be protectors of the Gate, let them do it in the open, like brave Flaming Fist do!

*The notes are not removed, but simply next to one is added another*
A warrior who has stood shoulder to shoulder against demons and devils in open support of the Gate with these very people you decry now.
You, who are too much of a coward to even sign your name to your accusations.

A neatly penned note is added right next to the anonymous reply.
The words of Derik Ranloss are not on the topic of demons, and their dealings. Rather they speak to the character of House Darius, and the values they uphold. His words seek to bring clarity and context to the actions of House Darius; not, as you misguidedly state, to share advice on demons.
House Darius are representatives at the Duchal Court, and advisors to Duke Eltan. If the Dukes held any belief that House Darius consorted with demons, which they do not, they would have taken swift action already.
Stop spreading your lies, and misinformation.
Signed,
Adrian Baker of House Aldren
