It’s not like we change these things without considering them carefully first. But it’s very valuable to get all the player feedback we can. I especially enjoy when someone writes up a small description of an encounter they faced. Helps me evaluate whether the experience I’m aiming for is also how it’s seen from the player perspective.

Based on some of these reports we have recently toned down the top end of the dynamic spawn potential. There was some synergy between two systems that was unintentional, and gave some nasty potential (as Hoihe can attest to). Very rare occurrence, but if it can happen it will happen.

Knowing my luck, I probably kept getting top end spawns when game decided to keep giving me maximum 5 on attack rolls :P.
That stinks. Way to go guys.

Dynamic CR scaling is great. Really. I was just grinding around, sitting all comfy in my thought of being able to ROFL-STOMP the mobs, until BOOM! 2 Boss Spawns with 3 lieutenants popped out of thin air, and I thought "My toon can handle this!" but HELLZ NO and they soon enough dispatched my Character to the Fugue.

LOL. So much more of an interesting and challenging Server, with this Dynamic Encounters. Thanks dedude!!!

Another little tail of the Dynamic Mobs.

I was level grinding in Cloakwood with some WM/Scythe user in party with my Archer. Generally embarrassing the guy by killing stuff before he could run to it...

... then in spawns about a dozen higher level Witchdoctors, and one Super Witchdoctor in golden text. Uh oh. They killed the Scythe user outright within a second. I grabbed his body and ran for a transition. Darn witchdoctors were firing synchronized Searing Light in volleys. I think I got cut down with a volley of Sound Bursts about 10 feet from the transition.

...but my death glitched. Instead of dying and going to Fugue, it dropped his body on the ground, and healed me. I made it through the transition just barely. (It counted as a death on reset). On the FAI road some bench sitters just happened to be arguing about something by the Cloakwood transition. Through a little roleplay I got them to follow me and exterminate the witchdoctors. Even they were fairly impressed with how many creatures there were.

Then off to raise the guy in the temple of wisdom, and a hard trip to Fugue on reset at the Nexus to pay my dues.

These things definitely can be challenging. I've started running for it if I see a mob of spell casters spawn in. The Xvarts spawning a dozen shamans is probably the worst I've seen yet though. Party killer.
