Harbor watchers may have noticed a priestess of Umberlee speaking with the ferryman.
He seemed to quaver in fear as he knelt before her. The woman, Dread Wavecaller Perle Wynn, prayed with him, and dusted sand over the supplicant.

Image

After a brief discussion she departed on a ferryboat. Some time after she returned, a foul look on her face. She disappeared into the Water Queen's house and, with a hammer and nail, posted several notices along the docks. She turned, to any gathering crowd with a look of fury in her eyes. She pointed to the notice with an outstretched hand.

Let it be known!

Image

By all who fear and give respect to the vengeful seas!

The Water Queen’s House declares
Isabella Villame a blasphemer against Umberlee!

All who dismiss the power of
The Bitch Queen will face Her ultimate judgment, for the sea is and shall forever remain Her domain!
Let none who fear the ire and curse of Umberlee give the doomed woman or her associates safe port while the insult stands!
The Queen of the Depths reaps from the ranks of the doomed, and She starts with blasphemers like Isabella! In the end, the dead serve Umberlee most faithfully!

"This woman, this Isabella Villame, claims the hardworking sailors of this great city do not respect Umberlee, and there is nothing to fear upon Umerblee’s great domain." she says in a mocking tone. "Moments after her blasphemy, I sensed Umberlee's great displeasure."

Perle's sea-green eyes gleam as she strides along the boardwalk. "I reached the harbor, this man here" she points to the ferryman. "Told of a late ship, the Salted Exhalted, with the Flying Fish's Mercantile Company, had not arrived to Amn on time. She carried 20 souls, and Captain Willets was at the helm.

"I cast Umberlee's light upon the sands and prayed that these sailors make it home safe. Mayhap the ship is just off course. Mayhap these sailors still live. Their lives, if they still have them, are in the Sea Queen's hands now. Only She can decide their fate."

She pivots on the boardwalk. "And if they do not come back, we know who to blame." She points at the poster. "This storm rose right as the words left her mouth:

" 'Umberlee is a joke.' 'The city doesn't care.' 'Captains of ships offer Her the middle finger... every time they sail.' "

As she quotes Isabella, her index finger points to her palm with emphasis. "Speech like this is the death of a sailor."

"This absolutely cannot stand. The sailors of this great city know different. They know Umberlee’s wrath, and have seen what careless talk has wrought. This is yet another example. For your health, I urge you -- do not take this doomed woman aboard your ship."

"And if ye know anyone with these views, provide to me their names, or encourage them -- by whatever means necessary -- to attend a service at high tide at the Water Queen's House."

She then seeks to find the families of those aboard the ship, starting with Captain Willets, where she offers to pray with them -- in exchange for tribute.

The Radiant Heart have been performing additional patrols along the River Chionthar. These patrols take them north and east towards a crossroads leading to Greenest, the Woods of Sharpteeth, the Fields of the Dead, and the northern Trade Way. At points they stop to observe certain crossings of the river where no bridge exists. Detailed charts are made and the areas are surveyed.

Later, the Grand Knight could be seen walking the areas with Bhor, a hero of Kraak Helzak. The two seem to go on to discuss the lands there and perhaps have come to an agreement.

Rumors spread that some time after the Dread Wavecaller prayed for the lives of the missing Salted Exhalted crew, the ship arrived at their intended destination the port in Amn, with all sailors accounted for. Battered but alive, the crew would share stories once they returned to their home port of Baldur's Gate about a sudden, vicious storm, coming up swiftly on a calm afternoon, having blown them severely off-course from the Coast south-east of Candlekeep. Some time later, the storm dispersed as quickly as it had arrived. With the aid of a brilliant moon and clear stars, and the help of a dolphin, the ship's navigator was once more able to find their course.

Many people would superstitiously agree that the sudden storm, and the subsequent Wavecaller's prayer and the safe return of the ship could not be merely a cooincidence.

These Banners yet still decorate the city, a reminder of the upcoming tournament Today.
Hidden: show
Heroes Needed!

The Sons of the Second Dawn are calling on all heroes, adventurers and braves to show their mettle and test their resolve in a grand tourney, unlike one the Coast has seen in recent or old memory.

Come pit yourselves against the marvels of gnomish golemancy. This coming 29th of Marpenoth, your opponents won't be your fellow warriors, but state of the art golems created by a renown and almost mythical master of gnomish arts, Master Beravan! You will be facing opponents none has before had the chance to face, fiercer, smarter and more resilient than you could imagine, and so your victory (if you are good enough) will be all the sweeter, not to mention the wonderful prizes.

The Rules are simple; no law breaking, no magical trinkets or potions and no copying the master's works, everything comes down to your own skill and cunning. But do not fret, besides a single person bout, you can also test your strategic mind and cohesion in group combat (of four people). Do YOU have what it takes to show the Coast your might?

Image

OOC: The date is 30th October 19:00 GMT. As per rules no consumables or items with use may be utilized unless they are wearable gear, and no such items may be switched out during a fight. Healing between matches will be provided, but no rest may otherwise be had so plan the use of your resources well. The Malicious Image, Glass Doppelganger and Shadow Simulacrum spells are also not to be used on the golems, but you can copy your own companions. All classes, builds and archetypes are welcome, as long as they are allowed within Baldur's Gate. You may apply in game with any member of the Company or via Forum PM.

Along the Chionthar River

Along the banks of this mighty River. A silent Hunter made his way down the banks. Those blue Comyrian eyes scanned the dense undergrowth that would be a good ambush spot for a less trained and keen eye. His feet Carrie’s him fast across the terrain. A firm grip on ‘Ol’ Painless’ his Comyrian longbow. As he’d move around threats to passage and commerce on this road.

Arrows rained like steel tipped rain drops. Finding their marks on Orcs who had dared push out of the Forrest of Sharp Teeth. The Bodies would be dragged off the main roads and set off in a small clearing to be burned. Away from water sources or anything that would harm the River water. Every night a pyre would be lit sending a message to the Orcs that the East Chionthar wasn’t going to go easy nor quietly into their control.

A lone pair of raven's wings lofted high above the canopies between Fort Morninglord and Elturel as a tu'tel'quessir garbed in white and dark blues perched upon horseback below continued her trek toward the city walls, letter in hand. A day would pass before her departure for Triel.

After a weeks worth of Surveillance, Seek & Destroy patrols on the Orcs that are drifting out of the Woods of Sharp Teeth into the East Chionthar River. The Radiant Scout and the Radiant Hound Dusty are finally back in Baldur’s Gate. Nigel stopped by the East Gate District first where he meet with the laundry maid that he payed to wash his garments while he’s out in patrol. He came back with a bundle of green and black tunics and slacks. Socks and undergarments.

He stopped by and saw Joy at the Lewd Lyre and got a Comyrian Breakfast Tea with a splash of milk. He made his way through the Wide and back towards the East Gate. Where he spent a few hours enjoying hot chow at the Radiant Heart charter house and stocked up on some supplies for the next week long patrol of the East Chionthar.

Rumor has it that at high tide, the docked The Fleetwood I and its two-man crew, were visited by the Dread Wavecaller Perle Wynn, who did bless the vessel for sailing the coastal seas into the time of difficult winter weather, as well, blessing the two sailors of which voiced their desire to always return home from voyages in the Water Queen's domain.

Aside the Priestess and the sailors stood the proprietor of the Chionthar Charter & Seaward Supply Co., the Half-elven Jon Smythe, who seemed to be the one funding such a transaction—or blessing— to keep at bay the destructive powers of the Queen. It may have gone noticed that Smythe did not receive any blessings, himself.

As Smythe has been seen pounding cobblestones and wharf with his feet these last days, in contact with sailors and merchants alike, it would seem in earnest and with some immediacy, he is trying to apply a change in trade ways to benefit that which flows in and out of the Gate, itself..

The Dread Wavecaller Perle Wynn conducted a ship's blessing ceremony at high tide. Those who were present saw the death of a small horse, whose life ebbed from a gash in its neck. Its blood spilled into the sea and the palm of the red-headed priestess. She blessed the two-man crew of The Fleetwood, her words at times rising with a shout in her religious fervor.

"O Umberlee! Yer great waves tower in your fury! Ye demand a reaping, and Captain Smythe hears your need! We gather today to offer a sacrifice! An a blessing, for the Fleetwood an her crew!"

With blessed saltwater, the priestess traced a thumb down their noses and drifted something over them as she continued the ceremony.

"May Umberlee's waves shelter you, and guide you ashore should ye fall overboard"

The transparent gambrel suspended cupola high above her chimed beneath bellowing cloud and sent her rapt attention lifted from correspondence to observe the little pellets of rain diffused across marble floor of the Elturel garden. Dark clouds were often aleatoric heralds but not for her, and not this day; with rehearsed coordination a page was turned and a gold against obsidian pen was caught between teeth, concepts spanning lifetimes in bubbling accretion uniformly consented its existence upon the parchment and vouched by greater entities than herself. A few heartbeats pass before she and her effects disappeared against the backdrop - destination unspoken, determination resolute.

The following poster can be found on the notice boards of Baldur's Gate, for everyone to see.
Danger in the wilds!

The orc hunter known as Shamble has returned. Be careful when you travel in the wilds around Ducal Lands, this orc has been fought in several occasions by all sorts of individuals with a variety of skills and no one has been able to catch him yet.

He is extremely skilled with his bow and arrows, he is able to blend and hide in the wilds with ease and he is very fast on his feet. Additionally he seems to be able to use magic scrolls up to the 9th circle in order to shroud himself within powerful wards and magic.

If you see him do not try your luck unless you have friends with you and a good plan, this is no ordinary orc.

If you have any information about him or you want to assist in hunting him down please approach the Temples of the Triad.

Please see his portrait below.

Roughly 8 or 9 individuals make their way to the Halls of Inner Light over the evening. Most bear various degrees of injury.

There was at least one murmur of 'Orc wounds' by a man in a leather hat.

The Whitewood Vanguard held a gathering in the field just north of the Gate, near its Arena and the road. A circle of comrades where names were called and some stepped to the circle for recognition.
