I think a lot of people mistake the [Evil] descriptor for the [Death] or [Negative] descriptors. I don't know how it is in PnP, but as far as NwN2 goes spells like Finger of Death, Slay Living, Wail of the Banshee, Avasculate, and Vampiric Touch are not inherently evil.

Well...that is about it, they are an Arcane Route to amassing an Army of the Dead. Not even sure if they are a REAL D&D class or something they added in for kicks.

Hey. Do not pick on pale guy. He has entries in guides of DnD and I remember his page on Libris Mortis guide for undead. He is definitelly original class. And must say there he really rules.
When someone calls you elitist, he automatically admits that your RP is superior to his.

From what I recall, you lock yourself in an undead-infested crypt for a while.

Weird, right?

Pale Masters are "non-good", meaning they can be neutral, but all their special powers are specifically related to the creation of undead, which is always evil.

Sometimes the DnD designers sort of forget little details like that. It happens to the best of us.

It's not impossible to be a Neutral Pale Master, but you probably wouldn't be able to make use of many of the class abilities if you wanted to stay non-evil.

If you look around, someone may be able to get you a link to the relevant page of Libris Mortis. One thing to note is that there were two versions of the class in two different books - one is for 3.0, the other for 3.5. The NWN2 translation is more like the 3.0 version of the class, since it was adapted from NWN1 (which is a 3.0 based game). In neither case is it very faithful to the original design and ethos of said class, though.

While where on the subject, a ShadowDancer and summon a undead shadow, but its not evil, as the shadow is often not evil but the same aliment as the caster, nor can this shadow make more shadows like a normal undead shadow. All of this is PnP though and not talked about or used in NWN2

Pretty sure that is from the Shadow Plane so not an Undead in the conventional sense.

By PnPized do you mean the in-game class changed too mirror the pen and paper version?

And thankyou for your answer Hydro. I will look around myself but if anyone allready has the link that would be great :) Looks like I might have too find a nice lonly crypt somewhere...

So a neutral pale master who used "good" spells and undead spells, didn't commit any other actions that are against his allingment and didn't use the undead for anything but to protect himelf and others is still evil? It is better to let someone else die than to re-animate a corpse for a short while to save a life. Please tell me and explain if I'm making a pointless argument but if there isn't a solid reason why it is innately evil (in the literal sense of the word as well as allignment wise) I don't see any reason people couldn't RP a pale master.

What is the view of shadow magic along the sword coast?
