Something I wrote, not the lyrics to the song. But the song was an inspiration. The poem contains explicit words so open at own risk.

Hidden: show
Hounds are coming...

I can hear the hounds coming, it's distant though they're there.

Clawing, ripping, baying loudly, bloodstains in their hair.

I try to do the right thing, try to make them see.

Still I hear them barking, growling, headed straight for me.

Of course I love my family, more so than myself.

They can't stop the hounds of hell, it's me and no one else.

I can feel my heart is failing, my nerves are at an end.

They circle now, drawing close...my soul they wish to rend.

The fight has left my body, my will is growing weak.

Diving in with snapping fangs, tearing what is me.

I'm yelling out to God, "Please just make them quit!"

A little whisper says to me, you deserve just what you get.

Then (do-me) it! Let them take me, drag me straight to Hell.

There I'll burn and twist and writhe, forever in my cell.

But you'd do well to watch me, for I may pick that lock.

Then grab the Devil's ears in hand and make him suck my c**k.

A shout I throw to heaven, "Look I kicked his ass!"

A booming voice says to me, "Still you shall not pass."

Hell will never hold me and Heaven won't let me in.

A price I'll pay for empty faith and life I lived in sin...
