It's simply unplayable right now. Server doesn't reset but the lag is killing.

Sigil has been dealing with a lot of crashes and high traffic, they suspect attacks. Might be the case here as well.

Absolutely unplayable atm. Lag spikes lasting more than two minutes, and then the server finally crashed. Now, apparently, it's up but myself and others I know of trying to log in can't.
What the hell?

It feels like the days of ddosing again.

Some additional details:
-- Walking is fine sometimes, but occasionally rubber-bands several times before getting there.
-- Input of any kind has a delay; opening various UI windows is about a 5sec lag, attacking a mob can lag between 5-15 seconds, and the battle often freezes for a few seconds.
-- Just now, text conversation was lagging between 20-40 seconds.
Server crashed, came up again, crashed again, and came up a second time, but came up again without a reset (spawned in the last place I was.)
Hope the details are useful.

EDIT: It also comes and goes -- sometimes it runs smooth, other times the lag creeps up again. It's not a constant either way. Also, it doesn't seem to matter if I'm Direct Connect, or selected the server through the regular means. (Sorry if this is tedious, but I'm trying to nail down all the possible variables on my end.)

I don't know how you are keeping playing under these conditions. Look at the number, the server is almost full.

I don't want to jump to conclusions as to if it is ddos again, buyout I was on early this morning when only~25-30 players were in game and even then there were lag spikes of several seconds. Rubber banding, combat stuttering, etc..

I'm not seeing any indication of DDOS attacks in the past 24 hours. There may have been an issue that snuck in during our last server update (probably script related).
We'll be doing another server update soon-ish, and hopefully that will help restore stability somewhat! I know the devs are all looking at their own scripts from the last update to make sure everything's looking good.
Another option, if that doesn't work, may be cutting more areas/content. We're really playing at the edge of what this game engine can handle, with our amount of area maps and custom content.

It was fine before the extended outage for the OS update last night. Smooth, snappy transitions. No rubber banding. Responsive button clicks.
Since last night it has been borderline unplayable but if I am not mistaken there weren't any content/script updates last night? Or areas added?

The server needs a reboot asap, it's doing the funky chicken again(cant speak, transition, etc).

For what it's worth - I have been playing here since 2009 (with a couple shorter and longer absences) and it never before was as smooth as it was after the large area removal.
The current rather laggy situation started for me at the exact moment when the last update (including the re-appearance of several areas) was published.
Since then I more often than not have experienced lag in every fight (unrelated to the number of players online/DM events happening or not), in many npc talks, transitions etc.
