In the dead of night, a paladin would return to Baldur's Gate alone, her cloak in tatters, and armor tarnished from black rain and battle with horrors now roaming the land. The knight in red made her way to the ruins that were once the Halls of Inner Light, and on discovering what remained, she was given pause. Approaching, she knelt in silence and prayer, a faint light shined before her, and the paladin was given purpose and directive. To a passing lord Vale, she offered a brief, if intense exchange, then rode from the city with all haste.

A courier makes rounds through the temples of the Gate leaving letters at every temple and shrine, from Umberlee's temple on the docks to even the temple of Torm. A wax seal is in place with the insignia of the Black Abbey.
Fellow clergy of all faiths,

As you well aware, the gods have fallen silent, why this is remains unknown. Whatever may be happening is greater than us mortals, and may very well be greater than the gods themselves. I am calling a moot of all clergy of all faiths to be held in Candlekeep on the 9th of Flamerule to discuss this calamity. Put aside your mortal squabbles for if we do not figure out what has happened to the gods, we are all doomed.

Vigilator Schulltze

((This is an open invitation for July 9th (Saturday) at 3pm EST (7pm GMT) to all clergy/divine characters as I know not all PCs are officially part of a temple or anything.))

Guardsman Asen escorted a cart with a covered body to Thayan Enclave. He left the corpse and a folded letter in the hands of the guards before departing.

A short time later, an irate Red Wizard is seen exiting the Enclave on foot, traveling east out the Gate and then south along the main road.

Along came a Helmite

In the poorer areas a preacher with a wide brimmed hat made his way preaching under torchlight. Calling out the sins and the faults of the heroes that had let down the people and now had caused the gods themselves to turn against their flocks.

He gave fiery speeches condemning the arrogance of mortals and how unchecked magic had caused the gods to turn against us. To leave us alone in this new uncertain calamity filled world.

All but Helm who still empowered the worthy and righteous. He instructed for those who need the protection and love of Helm to fall upon their knees and worship Helm the true and constant protector of mankind. He instructed his flock to reject the unclean and dangerous Pact Magic Warlocks bound to Devils, Demons and the chaotic Fey. He spoke against the dangers and seduction of the arcane and how it corrupts the soul with arrogance and pride.

The end times are here and only Helm can deliver you from the damnation of the wall.

Osric pays a rider handsomely to journey to Waterdeep, bearing a message for the priestess of Siamorphe who cured the lord of his shadow curse.
Scion,

It has been many moons since we last spoke and I hope you fare better than we do here at the Gate. I again offer my thanks for your prayers to rid me of my shadow curse. Bashfully, I must beseech your aid once more. As I am sure many across the coast are doing, I am trying to understand what has caused the calamities we have experienced, from the maddening of magic, the silence of the gods, to the death of even the Lady of Mysteries. I hesitate to imagine what conflux of events might have led to this outcome, but I am driven to investigate it nonetheless.

Word has spread to me that there has been a sighting of someone claiming to be the Moonmaiden upon the Prime, near or within Waterdeep. I hoped you might be able to shed some light on such. If these rumors are true, would it be possible that the Lady Siamorphe herself might appear in the City of Splendors as well? We are desperate for any clue or hint that might unveil what is happening, and the appearance of someone claiming to be a goddess offers a chance at understanding.

With magic unreliable, I am left to these mundane forms of communication. I am unsure if a falcon could have made the journey, so I bid you reply as soon as possible to the one who carries this message. He has been instructed to wait for your response.

You have my most humble gratitude, Scion.

Siamorphe guide,
Lord Osric Vale

A woman in purple dress and matching hat can be seen hanging flyers around the Gate and near Blunts. She would greet each she saw with a warm and welcoming smile, humming while she walks with a bounce in her step.

He made his way across the districts of Baldur’s Gate nursing his wounds a slight smile on broken lip. As the pious preacher of Helm approached the Flaming Fist Keep where the Flaming Fist and the City Watch took criminal complaints. The priest would stop along the way to offer Helm’s healing and pausing to revivify a fallen dock worker whom had died in an accident. Demanding the raider worker quit his profession and show Helm appreciation for a second life by serving him in these final days.

He reached the compound one he was familiar with as many City Watchmen where Helmites. He prayed with them and offered as many blessings as he could. Before entering the watch captain’s office and placing a formal complaint against the Orc named Rhaeg who had almost struck him dead for preaching the word of Helm. For evangelizing in these dark uncertain end of times.

He also asked the watch Captain what is the Watch doing to protect the people of Baldur’s Gate in these times of wild un-controllable magic. Magic must be banned for the greater safety. We must do our Devine ordained duty to protect the good people of the Gate and the Grand Dukes of Baldur’s Gate. Specially now when the north is at war and unworthy gods who have forsaken their flock are being slain by the True god Helm

A small figure in a mithral armor has been seen around the temple of Ilmater observing the people going about their daily lives and sometimes she has circled past the Orphanage. She has been there frequently for the past few days, sometimes with others but often by herself and remains for several candlemarks. When asked she has mentioned being from the Whitewood Vanguard and watching over the temple.

A vessel from Waterdeep arrives in the late afternoon, amongst the cargo and personnel is a familiar face with flowing red hair. She gives a polite dip of her head and a warm smile to any she makes eye contact with as she moves through the docks to the Palace District. Her destination is well known and as she walks through the gates her gait suddenly stops at the sight.

"Well.... damn..."

She mutters under her breath, looking over the cratered building that she once called home. A voice echoed in her head.

"It looked better as a hole in the damn wall then what you turned this place into!"

"Well he got his wish it would seem...." The Crimson haired woman chuckled, as there was nothing else that one could do, crying to the gods would do no good now. All there was to do was to laugh and drive on. It was then she noticed a man standing in front of the rubble and they conversed a bit after some idle comments. They left to track down some old friends and allies. After a while she returned, looking over the ruins, spotting some dried blooed in the cracks of some of the busted ruins, reminding her of the life lost.

"First, need to finish expanding the farmlands, no one starves in place of beauty being created to replace what was lost. Then, if there is will and sufficiant support, we'll build anew once again, or perhaps a new beautiful addition to the city will be built upon the rubble of the old."

A certain "concerned citizen" in red lingered for a while longer after the commotion in the Duchal Palace, inquiring on the events that happened, and after, offered to treat some of their number to a pint as thanks for their hard work.

Later in the day, an adventurer would pass by the Fist headquarters to look for work, and heads right after to the Blushing Mermaid to exchange grumblings with the barkeep.

The Grand Knight placed manacles upon the man, and a group of several organizations that were present lead the prisoner towards the city. Once in the city, the procession made it's way to the Flaming Fist Castle in the Harbor. A hand-off was completed with Captain Norton, where Amos Thistle, Lord of the Blackrose, was placed into a cell.

A Seven foot tall man sits within the Fist prison staring at the wall reflecting about his life.
He could be heard singing a luskan Mourning song all night long, Sadness heavy in his voice as occasionally he man could be heard sobbing
He would eventually fall to sleep though who knows what time would bring with it.
