Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A woman in purple and gold armor can be seen around Baldur's Gate hanging flyers.
She would be humming a soft tune, brows furrowed in thought as she finds the perfect posts for her new flyers.
Once a few had been placed around the city, she would depart towards the Fields of the Dead with an overstuffed travel pack.

*The known bartender of the Broken Goblet might have been seen trying his luck in the Temple of Tymora and giving offerings before his departure.*

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Fliers begin to spread through the Gate, first appearing in the docks, spreading through the city, and then the outer city. Posted by a lovely red headed woman in a flowing red and white silken skirt. The familiar face wears an optimistic smile as her emerald eyes meet the citizens, and eagerly answers any questions they have before moving to other places. She pays special attention to the poor, the bunk houses, and refugee areas. Ensuring they are posted clearly.
Citizens of Baulder's Gate,
I, Alyssia Leonhart, once again reach out to you to aid in strengthening the city. In these times of war, those unable or unwilling to take up arms and fight the foes of the City and of the Lord's Alliance need not to, for there are other ways to help your fellow Baldurians and those of your family and loved ones long away on the frontier of battle.
I have been assured by Duchess Liia, that the Council of Four will uphold their end of the deal struck about six months ago, in expanding the farmlands in a joint effort to see the woes of past years crop failures be put to rest without the resorting of caravans of food provided by those that are now our enemies, as they gloated in the streets proclaiming themselves saviors and further spreading corruption into the city, from high to low. With their grasp undone, the hard working Bauldrians need but answer this call, to prove they need not the gifts of those that offer such with strings attached, hidden behind proud words and nooses in hand. That we can, by all intents, self sustain, in both times of peace and war, and provide for our families and loved ones, both here, and in distant lands fighting for our way of life.
I offer a chance to homestead upon the new farmlands, a house built by your hands, fields tilled by your hands, and stocks and bellies filled, through your toil. The cost of such only being your labor, as the costs of such, will be covered by myself and the Council of Four, to strengthen our food stocks and hopefully never feel the pain in our bellies, and watching the pain of our children wither away to an enemy all should know, Hunger. By offering your labor, you will recieve a stipend for your work, all the way until the farms make first harvest. Upon which you will store what you need for your family, and the rest enters the food supply. What you make from selling such to the markets, will be your livelyhood after that.
Training and education will be provided for you, be it farming and tilling, crop rotations, herding and breeding. We also need skilled laborers to oversee and instruct on building homesteads, barns, and windmills. Tools need be fashioned for crop work. All of this will be provided at no cost to the workers of the expanded farmlands.
If you've any questions or wish to sign up for such a task, leave a message for me at the Blade and Stars inn, I will check daily and answer what I can.

A heavily-cloaked figure would be seen making its way out of Baldur's Gate. Carrying a large rucksack, the person neither spoke nor stopped for anyone on its way to the outskirts of the city. Curious lookers-on would most likely notice a woman under the hood, or traces of red clothing underneath the hood. Where she was going, no one was told.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Warning notices are thrown up around the city and its environs, authored by House Vale and bearing the house's tri-falcon seal:
Beware the Chionthar's Waters!
Citizens of Baldur's Gate, be warned. On the 30th of Eleint, the River Chionthar suffered a spell of Raw Chaos and is now filled with contaminated, pink water. Avoid drinking, using, or touching this water at all costs. Those who do not are known to suffer agony and death not long after coming into contact with it. Remain calm and seek water from the citys' wells and other reserves where it may be found. The city, its leaders, and your temples are doing all they can to identify the cause and remove the contamination.
If you or anyone you know ingest this pink water, please induce vomiting immediately and bring them to the Temple of Ilmater for treatment.

In the early morning a figure in green and brown armor, covered by hooded cloak with color of grass may be noticed on the side of Chionthar River. Ranger stood the water, inspected the bodies of animals, that were found dead near the edge of river. The wolf, who accompanied him all the way, looked at the pink water with worrying in his eyes.
Shortly after that a hawk with letter from this ranger was sent to the south while he went up the river in order to figure out, where did this pollution started and how much territory is now in danger

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Encountering watchmen securing the city's harbor from a strange pink mist, Lylan'Synor will inquire and be told that up it goes up the Cointhar River, drying it up.
Worried, she thanked the guards for the information and will let them know if she learns anything useful about these troubles.
The Elf then decided not to take a boat- and turned on her heel to exit the city by the eastern gate.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Rumors begin to spread about double tragedies the night before, One of the houses outside of BG seemingly randomly caught fire, killing five inside. Magic being repeatedly used summoned forth rifts bringing in fire elementals and fire salamanders. Thankfully it was eventually put out by a battle mages sacrifice to close the gate, though at the cost of his own life.
Then all the water in the farmlands suddenly drying up, only to be bombarded shortly after by a pink tidal wave that swept up innocent bystanders. Several were reported dead, those having come in contact with the pink water should contact the Temple of Ilmater as soon as possible.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A familiar redhead is brought into the temple of Ilmater bearing injuries mostly attributable to what was probably a giant crustacean of some sort. Virin had been found unconscious and badly wounded not far from the city walls, dragging an equally grievously injured blonde man in black-and-white armored robes bearing a holy symbol of Selune and a sackful of bilberries.
Given their condition, and the distance of the closest known place they could have suffered those kinds of injuries, it's remarkable that either of them survived long enough to reach the temple.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A Tiefling with bright pink hair danced merrily amidst the pink mist hovering over the harbor. The end of her tail (she really disliked comparing it to a donkey's tail!) was still covered with paint. As usual, she painted on the walls all day, which many considered an act of vandalism, of course... how ungrateful! Later, she hid naughty words among the flowers she had painted on the wall. And later... Later she decided to play another trick. She always prank before move on from a town. And an idea came to her mind that was worth trying.
As soon as the thick pink fog lifted over the entire port, she quickly ran to one of the gates, unnoticed by anyone, and joined the group that rushed to the aid of citizens. She always loved the hustle and bustle of big cities, there was so much to see, so much to discover. She only felt sorry for all those affected poor people. But...
Well... not all jokes come out as they should!

A man in a wide brimmed leather hat makes a local delivery.
Dead flowers, tied to a stone, are lobbed over the walls of the Radiant Heart compound.

Mostly weeds.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
The High Lady pays a visit to Master Pike of the Temple of Gond and delivers him a letter asking for aid on a couple of interests within the city.
Master Pike,
I write to ask you for aid in a few matters pertaining to the City, and require your aid in.
Firstly, If you have any designs or addtions to homes to be made to reinforce them against the constant quakes and shakes in the earth. I believe the people of the gate could sleep easier at night knowing their house is less likely to collapse in the night upon their heads with some sort of simple and economic additions to their structures. I'd ask that we focus upon the poorer houses first, and I am willing and able to assist you with funds for any costs of materials and labor.
Secondly I request a crane be built near the Halls of Inner Light, to aid in removing and dismantling the ruins that remain in order to clear the scar of the cataclysm from the city. It needs to be built strong and sturdy to absorb the quakes even while under load. Again, I will be providing the funds for such a task, including materials and labor.
I know what it is like to no longer feel the presence of the gods, and I empathise with your situation, but I have faith in your abilities and knowledge in such matters, and I pray that you and your Gondsmen still hold faith and follow the teachings gifted from Gond, The Wonderbringer. May we soon feel their warmth and inspirations on us once again.
Heartwarder, Alyssia Leonhart, High Lady of the Halls of Inner Light.
