Whispers within the Palace district spoke of an often seen figure within the Temple of Torm spied entering the Temple of Tymora. The rumor says he appeared to only linger for a handful of moments before departing, and returning toward the East. Chittering responses wonder what the alledged man might have been doing within the Temple of Tymora - Perhaps praying for a bit of luck?

The dwarf Urem Dal can be seen in and around Baldur's Gate. Should someone follow or overhear him at any of the spots he visited, they would see him visiting the farmer Jorn, asking about buying livestock. After that, he'd be seen heading to Lucky Aello's shop. Shortly after someone else enters the shop, Urem could be seen leaving again. After a short stop at the Vale Estate, he went through the northern gate, looking at the carnival, before heading for an inn.

With another dawn of the city, people are greeted by a gentle knock on the door, should the citizens of the Gate choose to answer, they are greeted by the Heartwarder of Sune with a gentle smile. She asks if the household could use anything, and offers prayers and support, or an ear to vent their fears to. She takes notes of any need of food, fears of the quakes, broken plates or goblets, or anything else that plagues the minds and hearts of those that are willing to speak with her. She does her best to assuage the fears of the citizens, and offers to provide for their needs the best she can.

Image

In the afternoon, she arrives at the Torrgeir Mining Company, and inquires with Otto Goldstien about hiring a few miners, giving them a break from the mines while the earth shakes to help deconstruct what remains of the Halls of Inner Light, trusting they would know the difference from unusable stone from the good stone. She offers to deliver the unusable stone to be remade into pavers and gravel as needed to aid in fixing any potholes in the streets. The remaining usable stone will be left on site for a possible reconstruction or new building in the scar of the Cataclysm.

In the evening she arrives at the docks and speaks with Steward Hipp, inquiring about hiring a crane crew on overtime to aid in removal of the the ruins of the Halls. Ground labor is already provided, but a skilled crew to help in operating and manning the crane to ensure safe operation would be welcome. She informs them the crane will be provided by the Temple of Gond, and it is just the manpower needed.

In the early morning after the carnival and festivities to follow, a woman in purple can be seen dropping off the donations of those willing to help maintain the monthly stipend "The Common Courtesy" that the people of the Gate have come to rely on.

Steward Goldenmane of House Darius posts a notice around the city in numerous places, particularly in the harbor. A crier paid by the house is stationed in the harbor near the Company's warehouse to spread word to those citizens in need who may be unable to read.

"Citizens needing assistance with the Commons Courtesy - House Darius is offering free assistance to you. We will aid with the filling out of your paperwork and should you need to attend an in-person hearing you are welcome to visit the House for a bath and clean clothing for the occasion should they be needed."

Captain Vera at the House directs citizens who are present for this aid to wait in the bar, where various house staff assist them as needed.

House Vale is quick to follow House Darius’ example.
In light of troubling reports from the Wide, Let it be known that House Vale is also opening its doors to any who need assistance with the petition process for the Commons’ Courtesy. This much needed aid is a generous boon from the Grand Dukes and it is imperative that those in need are able to receive it. House Vale calls on its friends and allies to support this effort, in any fashion available.
A complement of House Vale guards is dispatched to the Wide to watch for any predatorrs that may be lurking for easy marks and targets.

Given recent reports of attacks against citizens collecting the stipend Sean of The City Watch would start increasing patrols and arrests of petty criminals in the lower income areas of the city. His reasoning would be rather obvious and his willingness to escort any worried citizens would be freely shared with any inquiring citizen.

The Church of the Triadic offers aid of escort alongside the City Watch; and assistance in visiting House Darius and House Vale; The Temple of Tyr opens their doors for any whom seek out aid with proper documentation in regards to accessing benefits. The Temple of Ilmater remains in service for any whom have need; be it clean clothing, or additional assistance for basic dignity and respect.

The Matron of House Divine would purchase some planters and have them erected along the side of the road adjacent to the Everwinter Estate that leads to the Palace. The planters would seem to somewhat obstruct access to the Estate though if asked the Matron would insist it’s just an effort to further beautify the green space.

In an effort to address inflation in the city, Osric would take once more to the podium and address the merchants operating in the Wide. Before he speaks, he would undo the clasp of his cloak to reveal his missing arm, its empty sleeve now rolled up neatly and pinned to the shoulder of his dress tunic.
Good merchants and traders of Baldur's Gate, I speak now as your fellow citizen and frequent patron of the Wide and its shops and stands. I speak to you as one who hopes to see you and your businesses flourish and grow. I beseech you to give pause and pay heed to my words.

The Grand Dukes intended the Commons' Courtesy to provide relief and support to the neediest among us. Raising your prices to dissuade the city's needy from your stores may indeed be successful, but to what end? While this stipend may not have been earned as a wage, it is nevertheless coin that can be spent. This gold would otherwise languish in the Duchal Treasury, diverted away from your markets and out of reach of your coin purses. Rather than turn it away, why not profit from Their Graces' generosity? The failure of the Commons' Courtesy can only assure one thing - that it will only be ever more difficult to see this legitimate coin into your coffers.

I implore you, turn not away from those who are in need. Look not away from those whose wealth is not equal to yours. All fortunes may turn with the passing of seasons. If this Gods' Crisis has taught us anything, it is that even the mightiest among us may be brought low. And if the loss of my arm has taught me anything, it is that we must cherish what we have while we still do.

We are all of us the inheritors of Balduran's legacy. Let us treat those neediest among us with the same respect we ourselves hope to receive from those above us.
After delivering his speech, Osric would speak individually with those merchants who trade in food, clothing, and other basic necessities and urge them again to keep their pricing stable. For those reluctant to do so, he would promise to arrange regular visits and shopping excursions from himself and those of his prominent friends in the city as an enticement.

Seing Osric and hearing his speech, an elf in Blue would stop while walking around doing some errands. Tiawyn would listen and after he's finished, she would add to his words.
This is what i've been practising since i came here. I understand that not everyone can afford the high prices. So my prices are calculated lower than those of many other merchants. This counts not only for adventurers and their need of equipment. I also had plans of business elsewhere with a group. A protest of other parties stopped my chances of business. I do not mind passing on a few coins, but i have to buy food and clothes, and to pay lodging on my travels myself as well. Now more than ever since this crises began, i am in need as well. Still i will not give up and offer my services also for purchaisng food, clothes and other things needed for everyday needs, all for better price.

I will not exclude anyone if they do not exclude themselves. Everyone may feel free to ask my services, wether they're poor or rich and for whatever is needed as long a it's not illegal or immoral. I may not always be here, but i come here at reagular times. Please leave word in the Temple of Mystra or the Vale Estate
With that she would appraoch those who seem interested and once again hand out informations about prices on her flyers.

An open letter to all spellcaster would be sent for every spellcaster to see. Even the often forgotten bards may feel adressed. It bears seals of the Azure Arcanists and Candlekeep. There are flyers added that give informations and copies of a certain public folder from Candlekeep.

(( Background Music for Atmosphere ))
Hear me, all you fellow spellcasters.

we all are facing troubled times. We had losses so severe, some may not imagine. We may be restricted and limited, and no mortal being can free us from those „shackles“. There is still places, where you are not resent and the Everwatch Knights are negotiating with Amn to find ways, to accept us. It may take time and patience. But hope dies last.

The Azure Arcanists stil are recruiting and always will. We will be honest and open with you. If you carry no dark thoughts, come to the Temple of Mystra, where we are allowed to be located. Are spellcasters being prevented from casting spells? That point is moot, as the City has become a zone of dead magic and our spells won't work anyway. Just like it happend to the Fields of the Dead after Jergal's intervention and the Boareskyr brigde after Bhaal's death.
Bring no harm and no harm will come to you. If you can bear with the laws, that other places surely have to keep up with, just like us, we are the Alternative for you.

We're also happy to have associates in Candlekeep, where you can also stay for a Tenday of Research. Members, wether avowed or unavowed can stay permanently. So it may be likely, you'll find us there as well occassionally. Knowledge about the recent events is shared freely here.

Also the Bladestone Foundation offers shelter for spellcasters at Warrior's Rest. They even go on patrols to protect or respectively save those who are in distress. The magekillers may still haunt our thoughts, but we're not at all alone.

The chains of Wild Magic and Dead magic aren't fixed by any mortals so easily. But together we're working to gather knowledge, so that everyone may be able do cast spells without those risks. Fleeing from the restrictions and what happens, will not change anything. So we work to understand what is happening and find a way to change it, for everyone and for the better. Yes, together we can at least try to win back our freedom. We stand, in our way instead of running. Mystra may be gone, but we are still here. It doesn't stop us from living according to her teachings and what we believe in. We have stopped thinking „What can't i do?“. We started thinking: „What can i do?“

Now more than ever, it is important to respect the weave, treat it not like a tool. Yes, if you need a tool, you can't buy in the Wide, you just go to another City and buy it there. But the weave is not to be treated like a tool, in order shape the world to your will. Love magic for what it is, and what do you do with something you love? You don't abandon it, you try to save it!

You are welcome to join us, in rising and working for our rights. What has limits now, doesn't mean it will stay like this forever. If you want to make a difference in the world, you will find like minded people with us. If you want to make a change, join the project „Make the Swordcoast great again“. We will love to help you learn and grow and exchange knowledge with you. Power is not only power. Power is real freedom and creativitiy.

Some may think, we sit and and wait. But we don't. We act in our way, for everyone, for you and a better tomorrow for all of us.

~Tiawyn Aleaneldeth,
Respresentive of the Azure Arcanists
Seeker of Candlekeep

During the night of Marpenoth 25t the gnome mage known as Meredith could be once again found wandering around the Harbor District.
In what appeared to be a common night, the gnome would spend time innocently taking notes near the East Gate entrance, oddly enough night workers or anyone else passing by the place would be able to witness a cat wandering and prowling the streets of the Harbor, usually in the company of other cats.
